Pollution has been affecting the earth for many thousands of years with natural causes, however as we developed as a species our technologies advanced creating more and more ways of polluting the earth. Visual pollution is often over looked in regards to the affects it has on the environment and the health of the population but could it be considered the worst form of pollution?

There is a lot more awareness of air pollution in the world today than any other as a lot of it is visible. Air pollution can be thought of any substance that people introduce into the atmosphere that has damaging effects on living things and the environment (National Geographic). Carbon dioxide released into the air breaking down the ozone layer slowly warming the earth, I’m sure you’ve heard this before but it’s the process known as global warming. These green house gases come from the fumes of cars, factories and peoples homes every second that passes. There is no denying that the affects of air pollution are worst than visual pollution on the environment but this does not mean it is the worst form of pollution. The raised awareness of air pollution and other types means there is a lot greater chance of the problem being tackled whereas visual pollution is often overlooked. The population are beginning to take a serious approach in reducing the effects of air pollution. It’s becoming more and more popular to drive electric cars, cycle instead of drive, recycle materials and limit polluting the air where ever possible. Where as visual pollution is just continuing to get worst and worst more houses and cities are being developed whilst advertising continues to coat our communities. This will cause the problem to increasingly become worse and in turn decreasing the quality of life. It could also be stated that visual pollution contributes to air pollution, cities are commonly known for emitting greenhouse gasses due to the population and visual pollution starts at the production of major cities.
We’ve looked at the affects of different kinds of pollution but which form of pollution could be considered the worst? Every aspect of pollution has a negative effect whether it’s on health or the environment.
