History
My Essay is based upon Valencia Cuisine which is the Region of Spanish. Valencia is the oldest city in Spain, begin in 2100 years ago which is founding as a Roman Colony under the name of Valencia Edetanorum on the site of former Iberian town by the river Turia in the province of Edetania. The Valencia city lies on the Spain’s south-eastern coast where Turia River meet the Mediterranean Sea. This city is famous for Science, Arts, modern structure, and interactive museum. It also has so many beaches, Albufera Park, and walking trails. Valencia is famous for falls, a local festival held in March, and for Paella which is the most popular food of Valencia.

As we know this is the third highest city of Spain. Moreover, it is also a part of Comunidad Valenciana which is the Valencia community and it is also located in the Valencia Region. Valencia is a port city situated in the east of Spain approximately three miles from Turia River to Meditarranean sea. The population of Valencia is around 1.5-1.6 million people. Spain has a strong economy in their regions. That’s it is considered a multicultural country. This city is full of Natural beauty, natural sources, magnificent architecture man made all mixed in one beautiful city. Valencia is also consisting of man-made architecture and natural landscapes. This city is made up of fertile valleys, terrains and marshlands and mountain peaks. Agriculture play a very crucial role in this country. The main products are growing in this industry which are vegetables, wine grapes, citrus, beef, pork, olives, dairy products, fish, and sugar beets. In he 1960s rural population decreased and so many farms were disappeared. Even with these faults, this society appreciates the hard work of farming compared to the easy way of living today. One point of Berry’s argument is that he believes that the land is falling more and more into the hands of speculators and professional people from the cities, who, in spite of all the scientific agricultural miracles, still have more money than farmers. Big technology and large economies have caused more abandonment of land in the country than ever before. Many of the great farmers are clearly becoming different because they lack manpower and money to maintain properly. The number of part-time farmers and ex-farmers increases every year due to the problems with money and resources.
At Carrabba’s children can expect to be entertained by receiving the “Bambini menu” (kid’s menu) and pizza dough to play with. Customers also have an option to sit front seat at the kitchen counter, where they can interact and watch the chef create the delicious meals. Patrons can also chose to sit at the bar with availability to television screens or have a more private setting. The kitchen also omits wonderful smells, making one think that they’re back at their mother’s house for dinner. Machado's overriding theme is the exploration of his personal spirit and that of the Castilian people through landscape. The landscape can also reflect and inner psychology. It is clear from the title of this collection the importance of the Spanish landscape.
Food culture all around the world changes and adapts in accordance to how humans evolve their tastes. In “End of Ethnic” by John Birdstall, he informs us of his point of view on what ethnic food is, and what we as Americans think of it. In addition, Kate Murphy’s “First Camera than Fork” talks about the positive and negative aspects of the “Foodie” world on the internet. Modern American food is an open book, full of different ethnic creations, and eye candy. This definition is proven through both Birdstall’s examples that define ethnic food as well as Murphy’s examples revealing how the food culture turns all their meals into a photographic diary.
Cilantro Tamales isn’t a typical Mexican restaurant. Upon entering you are immediately greeted with warm smiles, and are led to a bamboo chaired table with all sorts of hot sauces and other sizzling toppings to greet you. The air is filled with spices. The cinnamon and jalapeño aromas mingle and make the mood rich. Every dish on the menu seems delicious and it is always difficult to decide what to order. I always think that any dish which I don’t try gives me the excuse to come back again. Everyone who eats at Cilantro Tamales gets to have an unlimited amount of their fresh, homemade salsa with warm, salty tortilla chips. The thick chunks of tomatoes and onions with hot peppers and cilantro make a perfect combination for anyone’s taste buds. The waiters and waitresses carry immense trays burdened by the weight of great tasting meals, and each dish has enough on it to make mountains jealous. The delicious food is not the only reason Cilantro Tamales stands out. The restaurant itself is rich with culture and flavor. All the walls are a shade of bright yellow or sun burnt orange and red, which add to the Mexican feel. On the walls are historical black and white pictures of Mexico and its people which act as cultural memories of times past. The Latin and Mexican dance music can always be heard in the restaurant. I sometimes can’t help but move to its invigorating rhythm. An interesting facet to the restaurant is the hand crafted pottery.
It is told through the view of Americas love hate relationship with white bread and their understanding of “good food”. The book is written in an article form that is structed into chapters for people to provide a better understanding for the readers. Bobrow-Strain did not write the book in chronological order but written into sections and then written chronologically in that section. This helps the audience to better understand his main arguments of the book while moving through history. There are many examples through out the book which help to give a better mental picture to the reader to grasp the ups and downs of white bread. The author wrote White Bread: A Social History of the Store-Bought Loaf for food activists, foodies and other food academics who want to better understand food production and food studies. It helps to recognize alternative food production and to comprehend how food is such an important part in our lives. This book helps to give a better understanding for other aspects of our course because it connects the industrialization of food and the daily patterns we use to consume it with alternative food movements in North

Urban farming is the practice of growing and harvesting crops in urbanised areas such as, cities or towns. Urban farms are extremely beneficial, as they utilise unused space in efficient ways. For instance, vertical and rooftop gardens use minimal space and make use of areas that would otherwise be unused, providing a range of fresh, healthy produce. Many people around the world rely on food sourced from urban farms and local gardens. Farmers markets are a rapidly growing trend and provide fresh, quality produce to food insecure households, they are most common in rural and urban areas, as these communities may not have easy access to large food stores or supermarkets. The produce sourced from local farmers markets are fresh, and often picked either the night before or that morning, compared to supermarkets where the fruit and vegetables lose valuable nutrients and antioxidants after being pickled and sitting for days. With the produce being locally sourced, much of the money is transferred back into the local economy. Farmers markets create job opportunities and the ability to make profit and create food security. Food is one of human beings favorite addiction. From the arepas, to arroz con coco (coconut rice) there are many different platters from my cultural background. Being Colombian and eating Colombian almost every day brings me closer to these aspects from my culture. The way I feel connected to my Colombian culture is through its food. Many of the meals that I have eaten in my life come from my Colombian culture. Whether I’m home, at my aunt’s house or a family party something that is being made connects me back to my food roots.
Spain, the third largest country in Europe, has a strong history and diverse culture dating back to when the Iberians first inhabited the land. The country lies between the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean and the land ranges from mountains to meadows. Over hundreds of centuries, many different civilizations have inhabited the land influencing the people there today. From the Visigoths and Celts to the Romans of the Middle Ages, Spain has received a rich history and background. One of the strongest of its cultures is the food. All of these cultures brought a particular type of food and combined and blended with the food that exists there today. Spain is very popular for olives, vineyards, and citrus fruit. Another well-liked food is garlic, including varieties of peppers and spices. Once spice specifically—golden saffron—is essential in many recipes, including the Spanish Paella. There are many distinguished Spanish foods that encompass the daily life and culture of the country.
I believe that in order to preserve the authenticity of regional cuisine the people preparing the foods need to possess knowledge about their culture, an understanding of the ingredients they are using, and the ingredients they select must be from their region and no other. In their ess...
