Vaccinations have been a topic of debate for recent years. Although vaccinations have a many benefits, they also have many disadvantages as well. Families are forced to choose a side in this matter. Whether to have their children and family vaccinated, but some areas in our world do not even get this privilege. The citizens of this countries are struggling in many ways. With the assistance of vaccinations a weight could be lifted off their shoulders, but a lot of work would need to be done. Third world countries need assistance with vaccinations because vaccinations are limited and there is disorganization administering these vaccinations; however, if these problems where fixed it would lead to a healthier lifestyle for all. Although some cities are receiving their proper amount of vaccinations and administer them. Disease is also spread easily because of the plants and animals in these areas. With the recent aid in sending vaccinations it has become more urgent that it becomes organized. When it is made sure that everyone is getting the proper dosage, and a proper record will be kept for everyone it increases the chance of more people becoming vaccinated. When these vaccinations are sent and administered properly it will lead to a better development of their economy. Mainly because not as many citizens will be sick, children will continue going to school and parents will be able to work. Each state and/or country develops their own individualized guidelines through interactions with federal and state government agencies. One in five babies around the world are missing out on basic vaccines and may die from weak health systems and insufficient funding. Every now and then an individual’s doctor calls telling them about the latest vaccine they should receive. The person immediately schedules a time to come in and get it done. But do they even give a second thought about it? Have they ever thought that maybe they do not need another vaccination? Many people have not taken the time to seriously think about the process of immunization. The truth is, there are many dangers that the average person should be unaware of. Rarely do vaccines actually accomplish what the public has been told. In fact, a lot of vaccines contain harmful substances that have been linked to disorders such as autism. The lack of education and dishonesty from doctors are putting people in danger of health problems without even realizing. Many parents feel obligated for their children to get vaccinated because of school, not knowing they have the alternative option of refusing immunization.
The controversy concerning parents vaccinating their children has been a debate for many years. A vaccination is an injection of a weakened or killed organism that produces immunity in the body against that organism. In further detail: when germs such as bacteria or viruses, invade the body, they attack and multiply. This is then called an infection (an infection is what produces illness). When the immune system realizes, it then must fight back the infection with antibodies that the human body produces against the foreign substance. There was a time when people never questioned the government or their physicians. Every summer before school starts I remember my mom taking me to get all of my vaccines. Although, at first I did not understand the importance I now realize how crucial vaccines truly are. Those vaccines were a major part of what kept me from obtaining harmful diseases or even passing them to other children. Vaccines are one of the safest medical products available and the best defense we have against preventable, contagious diseases. Not only are they beneficial to yourself, but also the rest of the population. Therefore, parents should be required to get their children vaccinated.
Some of the most fatal and dangerous diseases known to the human race are measles, polio, and diphtheria. Before the 1900s, these diseases caused communities to live in fear as they went about their daily activities. Since then, vaccines have been a solution created to prevent people from acquitting these horrendous sicknesses. “In the 20th and 21st centuries, many people in the United States have not personally encountered some of the diseases that are now vaccine-preventable” (p. 132). However, even with a major advancement in medicine, there are still children all across the United States that are being deprived of life saving vaccinations. A poor single mother is raising her three young children who she cares deeply about. She decides to not get them vaccinated because she believes it is irrelevant and is concerned that vaccines are not safe. What she does not know, is that a transfer student from Nigeria has joined her children’s school, and brought polio with him. A few weeks later, all her children come down with polio. But with a mortality rate of up to 75%, not all of her children survive, and the one that did is paralyzed for life.
