Love is considered, by most people, a strong, compassionate, and mostly happy feeling. The definition of love is one of the most complicated in the English language. When dealing with emotions and then differences in human beings, it is nearly impossible to clearly define love. However, there are different types of love, which have some defining characteristics, that truly sets them apart. Love is categorized by, but not limited to, different types. The four types of love that I’ve had some experience with are: romantic love; family/friend love, and self-love. These four types are meaningful to me thus far in my seventeen years of life. Inevitably, two people will become attracted to one another. This is the affectionate type of love called romantic love. But no one type is more important than another. In fact, they are interdependent on one another and create a void when one is out of whack. When you are secure in at least one of these types of love, it enables you to attempt to love in other ways. Most of all, when you truly love who you are, you are able to exude love to another as you are not super focused on correcting yourself. It is all a wonderful cycle with one common denominator-you! At the center of each of your love relationships is you. Incredibly complex yet simple in concept, love continues to take on new roles and changes as we mature and grow. It is the emotion that you hear about most through songs, verses, poetry, books, and even history! These types of love will forever intrigue us. They will continue to be at the heart of what we say and do. Although I have only had seventeen years to experience love, I have a great foundation in this area. Not knowing where each of these types of love will take me in the future is the most exciting part of
