Boom! An animal struck down lies on the forest floor with dim, glassy eyes. However, this poor creature’s remains will not be given a noble purpose such as for food or clothing. On the contrary, this animal will be left to rot on the forest floor or stuffed and hung on a wall. Hunting for sport is a cruel and vicious pastime that has harmful effects on the humans and animals involved. Thus, hunting for sport should not be permissible in today's society for moral and ecological reasons.

Sport hunting can not be permissible in modern society for its harmful effects on the population demographics of animal species. As such, only the weakest members of the hunted species will survive and through inbreeding, will fill the gene pool with unsuitable traits. This will produce offspring that will be as poorly fit or even less fit to the environment as their parents. Furthermore, this will cause predators to ravage the weak populations leading to a sharp population decline and possible extinction. Supporters of sport hunting argue that sport hunting is a valid method of population control and that hunters are selective of the animals they kill, and try their best not to skew the animal populations. However, sport hunting data proves them wrong.
