During World War II, there was a Holocaust that the world will never forget. The word “Holocaust,” means the destruction or slaughter on a mass scale, especially caused by fire or nuclear war. Because of what the Germans did to discriminate the Jews, Jewish people developed trauma which impacted generations. The Germans caused to future generations of Jews, obesity, schizophrenia, certain fears, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and a handful of other things can be passed down to the children. Trauma can be passed to the next generation because it has been proved in scientific research on the Holocaust, testing on mice, and the effects of this post war DNA change today.

Some children develop a gene that can have them store food in their body for a long time, meaning that every time that individual eats, they get fatter and fatter. This was because of malnutrition of the people who lived in the Holocaust. Also, relatives of these survivors have an altered stress hormone. Most recently, a new study observed the posterity of Holocaust survivors. It shows that if either of the parents have PTSD, then the children will most likely develop it. All of this shows that the effect of what the Germans did to the Jews is life changing not only to those Jews but the next few generations of their family.
The Holocaust not only made a huge impact on the world and to stop this from happening again, we the people must stand up for what is right and not letting the wrong get past us. Also, all of these reasons answer my question of “Can trauma be passed to the next generation?” From all these points, we can conclude that it can be passed to the next generation. We must remember, “Never Again,” meaning that we can never let the wrong get the better of us as a people. As stated in the Constitution, “All men are equal” and we must let that stand true
