Smoking is a practice in which a material is burned and the resultant smoke inhaled in to be tasted and absorbed into the bloodstream. The material most commonly use is the dried leaves of the plant known as tobacco rolled in rice paper to give it a shape of a round cylinder called a cigarette.
For many of years throughout the world tobacco has been a major product. The tobacco industry is the biggest industry and is a significant part of the world economy. It is the major employer, providing the livelihoods of millions of families. Millions of people smoke and a large quantity use tobacco in other forms. It not only affects the smoker but it indirectly kills other people as well. It is the deadliest object in the human civilization. The cigarette is also a defective product, meaning not just dangerous but unreasonably risky, killing half of its long-term users. Most important reason for eradication is the fact that smokers themselves do not like their habit. According to Kotz and West (2009),”due to tobacco control policies there has been reduction in smoking in developed countries”. Smoking is not a recreational drug, most smokers do not like the fact they smoke and wish they could quit. Many governments across the world have banned smoking in public places. Smoking is known to be a leading cause for lung cancer, and it has been scientifically proven that it causes other harmful effects to the body as well. Not only for the well-being of those who don’t smoke, has this law benefited even the smokers. Smoking has been proven to be extremely harmful for human consumption.
The frequency with which a person smokes also affects the amount of damage caused by smoking. If smoking will be banned in public places, the smoker will have to abide by the law, and as a result, he will smoke less. Public places are visited by all kinds of people since they are open to everyone. This includes parks, malls, some restaurants, airports etc. Patients and pregnant women are among those who frequent these places,
