In the history of mankind, there were many inventions that changed the lifestyle of humans. The inventions and discoveries by many great ingenious minds simplified our life today. Man has addicted to the technology to such an extent that the use of various technologies has become part of his life. Could we envision a day without utilizing a cellular phone or a computer? It is sometimes astonishing how people in the olden times used to lead their lives, before these inventions were made. Of all the inventions that were made, a very few inventions caused a sharp turn in the way we are living today. Thomas Edison is one such person who brought an influential change in the world [1].
Thomas Alva Edison was born in Milan, Ohio on February 11, 1847 and lived till 1931. During his lifetime, he patented 1,093 inventions. Aside from being an innovator, Edison figured out how to turn into an effective marketer, promoting his innovations to people in general. A horde of business contacts, organizations, and partnerships filled Edison's life [3]. His famous inventions include incandescent light bulb, telegraphy, phonograph, lighting and photography.
Edison started his career as a telegraph operator in Port Huron during 1862. In 1868, Edison moved to Boston, where he accelerated his work on innovating things. His …show more content…

Before the invention of the phonograph, music was a social event where people used to gather at common locations to enjoy music. The invention of phonograph by this great scientist paved a way for recording sound and also the music industry. It was then people realized that sound can be recorded and reproduced. With the advent of phonographs and gramophone, popular music became available on records. Although the invention of phonograph brought music closer to people, this invention led to the decline in demand for live music, and some attribute it as a cultural disaster
