The Winter Orchestra Concert on March 10 was amazing. The first band was Concert Orchestra. The first piece they played was Allegro by J.H. Fiocco, arranged by E.D. Borgo. This song had an equal tone quality. The violins were great with keeping up with the tempo. It sounded like one instrument the blending was amazing. The violins had awesome sixteenth note runs. It was also a constant dynamic it was forte. The intonation of the performers was good. The balance between the instruments was also equal. The audience seemed to enjoy this song by this band. The next piece this band played was A Tribute to Elvis arranged by T. Ricketts. This song was a rock style. They had a student conductor who was very good a conducting. The violins were plucking the stings and kept the beat. The video was awesome and had some war parts in it. The song was balanced and the instruments sounded like one instrument therefore they blended together. The audience seemed engaged because of the video in the background, they liked it a lot. The next band was Symphonic Orchestra and the first piece they played Dance of the Furies, from Orfeo by C.W. Gluck. The style of this piece was to the genre of the French opera. The piece started out very soft and gradually got louder very quickly. The fast sixteenth notes were in time. Also each instrument had a different part. The French horns played in time and kept the beat for a section of the song. The tone quality was equal. The intonation of the performers was awesome. The instruments blended together at some points. They also had great balance. The audience seemed to be engaged because of the great dynamic contrast. The next piece this band played was Variations on the theme by Tchaikovsky by A. Arensky. The style of this piece is Rococo. This piece starts out very soft. It had a happy and swift sound. The tone was very joyful and spring like.
