The War of the Roses were a series of dynastic wars fought between supporters of two rival branches of the royal house of plantagenet,the house of Lancaster and york. This wars were fought in several sprordartic espisodes beteen 1455 and 1487. In my opinion this war was not necessary for the history of Europe because they could only had had talked and solve it in a simple way.
The War of the Roses is called The War of the Roses because the two houses are represented by two roses, the House of Lancaster is represented by a red rose and the House of York is represented by a white rose. The War of the Roses started because when Henry VI had the crown, he was ill so his cousin, Richard Plantagenet said that he would take care of England while Henry healed. The War of the Roses meant just about everything for Richard and Henry as it meant controlling England and England was a great power in the middle ages. The War of the Roses was caused because both Henry and Richard wanted to control England as in those times, the people still controlled their own space.
The houses were an important piece during The War of the Roses because Richard controlled the House of York and Henry controlled the House of Lancaster, both wanted to be the house that controlled England. There were three houses, the first is the House of Lancaster which was controlled by Henry VI, there was the House of York which was controlled by Richard Plantagenet and when the war ended, the two houses combined to create the Tudor House which was controlled by Henry Tudor.
The House of Lancaster was a very small family consisting of one son each generation. Blanche of Lancaster and John of Gaunt gave birth to Henry IV which then he gave birth to Henry V who then gave birth to...

...use of Plantagenet: The House of Lancaster and The House of York who were governed by two cousins: Henry VI and Richard Plantagenet. They were wars that were fought over the course of 12 years. In my opinion this could’ve been much easier if they just treated it like it should be and make an agreement.
