During the last three decades, our society has been modified through different elements. Beliefs, culture and values have suffered this change, too, and a very important agent has been identified as Technology. We are facing a new society, where Education and Knowledge look for strategies that can lead to a better situation. This new order makes everyone analyze everything that surrounds us, and consequently, it leads us to consider the future generations and their demands. Therefore, we have to think deeper finding that Teachers are an essential pillar in every culture. They are the responsible to teach our children, giving values and providing the necessary tools to be successful in today’s life. Tutors have to be in charge of educating these new learners and introducing them into the Knowledge’s Society. Thus, they will be promoting innovation, improvement, participation and inclusion. According to what it has been mentioned before, professors must be in continuing training and they have to update their knowledge. Every generation is different and the importance of renewing their methodologies is determining. A good teacher not only has to present a list of characteristics that represent what an excellent professional is, but also he or she has to integrate ICTs into the curriculum to create appropriate strategies to apply inside the classroom. Chile is not exempted to these changes and to the relevance of updating the methodologies. In the report of MINEDUC, “Innovación y Calidad en la era digital, 20 años impulsando el uso de las TIC en la Educación” it is stated how, in 1992, an innovative project was created with a main objective, improving the existing Curricular Programs, providing didactic tools to Teachers and gave ... ... middle of paper ... ...t to integrate in my career as a Teacher. The professional I want to be is that one who is able to impact and create meaningful learning in their students with different tools. No matter the means of getting different results, while they are successfully achieved, even though, it will be much better if we put in practice these new resources that facilitate our task as Teachers. Education is a topic that can be explored in many ways. Education is looked at in depth by both Richard Rodriguez in his essay, “The Achievement of Desire”, and by Paulo Freire in his essay, “The ‘Banking’ Concept of Education.” After reading both essays, one can make some assumptions about different methods of education and exactly by which method Rodriguez was taught. The types of relationships Rodriguez had with his teachers, family and in life were affected by specific styles of education.
Between the years 1985-2015 there were thousands of technological advances, which include the digital cellular phone (1988), MP3 players (1998), the World Wide Web (1990), Apple’s iPod (2001), YouTube (2006), along with the advancement of cameras, cell phones, computers, television sets, and more. All of these advancements left a considerable effect on the education world, notably the World Wide Web, cellular phones, and computers.
Educational technology continues to advance making learning a different experience for students. “Educational technology includes all real, analog, and digital technologies and media that can be used to support teaching and learning (Lever-Duffy, McDonald, & Mizell, 2003, p. 2)”. When the writer was attending grade school in the 90’s educational technology was nothing compared to how it is now. The technology then was minimal; it was not until the writer got to fifth/sixth grade when students would take AR (Accelerated Reader) quizzes on the computer to move up a reading level. That was the early kind of educational technology and now the advances have been immense.
Technology forms the most vital element of life in the world today. Every aspect of our lives is dominated by technology and its importance in our lives is indispensable. One of the outstanding facts about technology use in schools is its controversial nature. There is no common agreement by stakeholders in technology and educations sectors about the use of technology in schools. There are two different factions, one supporting use of technology as a positive aspect, while the other faction disagrees, citing the detrimental effects of technology in students. However, the use of technology in classrooms catering for children continues to increase, as education develops more interesting ways of enhan...

Doctors, lawyers, politicians, and engineers. How did they all get to where they are today? No matter the position someone may hold in society everyone has progressed to where they are in life because they had a teacher, someone who taught them in the way they should go. Teacher as defined in the dictionary as one who instructs. To teach someone is to communicate skills and give instruction. Today I would like to tell you why I would like to become a teacher. Specifically speaking I will tell you what has led me to this decision and why I want to become a teacher.

“I wanted to become a teacher to be able to make a positive difference on the future of children. For me, it is fulfilling challenge, stimulating the next generation to become lifelong learners. I have always been grateful to my mom (who is a retired teacher) for implanting values in me. I feel I should contribute what I have learned and experienced over the years. This way I will be paying back and at the same time can fulfill my desire of enhancing the education system.”

Setting goals and objectives for ourselves can give us a sense of direction in life. But the tides of time are unpredictable and things might not always turn out the way we planned them to be. Growing up, I knew I would finish high school at the age of eighteen, college at twenty-three and be married latest by the age of twenty- six. And of course I knew I was going to be a lawyer or let me put it this way; my parents wanted me to be a lawyer and they made sure my academic performance never declined. I attended the best boarding schools and lacked nothing, so what could possibly go wrong to defer my dream?
Despite predictions, new technology affects most service industries very much. Education is fast becoming resource based with students in primary, secondary, technical, and tertiary levels expected to do their own research and projects independent of class teachers with schools networking and teaching through video conferencing. The conventional teacher is fast becoming obsolete, with the number of permanent teachers reducing,
In today's constantly changing world, our children and youth need to learn inquiry-based, problem solving skills to that they may become successful members of society and live productive lives.
“Teaching is often a difficult process, but the end result is very rewarding. Watching a child develop confidence and seeing a student progress in their studies is a very exciting process. Teaching young children is especially great because it is setting a foundation for life-long learning.”(Chronicle guidance publications). What is teaching? A teacher is a person who provides education for pupils (children), or students (adults) using lectures, audiovisual aids, demonstrations, and computers to present academic, social, and motor skills. Teachers can also teach foreign languages, art, kids with special needs, and P.E. Teaching has changed a lot compared to the traditional methods of just lectures and textbooks. Students now are encouraged to actively learn through groups or individual projects. They have learning games, debates, and experiments to help them through the learning process. Being a teacher would be a great career for anyone who wants to further themselves, to help people, and to have great benefits (chronicle guidance publications).
This age is dedicated to more of learning age. It is said that even the teachers are the learner. This is the age of knowledge gradually shifted towards the age of communication. Thought and ideas are playing a crucial role in the present 21st century. The period when the denial and ignorance was the answer to the learner’s inquisitiveness has no solution. The answer to these questions is the technology which has solved problem to very much extend. People call such kind of change where teachers are supported with the technological tools to prove their worth. It does not say that previous centuries teachers were not efficient or they do not have that kind of knowledge. In the present time, the knowledge has got the support of the technology to explore. The learners are satisfying their requirements to the larger extend. The technological tool such as internet has shown great difference. The use of videos and photographs, 3D picture support, animations and documentaries and use of computers especially has changed the whole scenario. The most advanced version we have seen are the mobiles and the various applications which are loaded in mobile has taken the world in strong fist. The laptops are converting into the interactive machines which are loaded with n number of facilitation.
In a way, ICT can be imaginatively pinched upon for professional development and academic support of the pre-service and in-service teachers (NCFTE, 2010). It also opines that Teaching is a profession and teacher education is a process of professional preparation of teachers. Teachers are concerned, in an important way, with the total development of human beings - physical, intellectual, emotional, social, moral and spiritual. While the dimensions of teaching other than the informational and cognitive may have suffered neglect in modern times due to a variety of factors, one cannot deny that they constitute an integral part of the teachers’ role and functions. The implication of this is to give due emphasis to developing reflective teachers with positive attitudes, values and perspective, along with skills for the craft of
