The contents of an individual’s wardrobe may say many, to little things about them. However, most people seem to infer that clothes are the definitive of a person’s characteristics or personal traits. Despite how many people agree with this statement, traits and characteristics are not defined by what they choose to wear for school, or to work, but they are defined solely on their actions and behavior.

In the eyes of the majority, clothes seem to be used as a catalyst for judgment. However, clothing should not be used as a determination for an individual’s sexual orientation, gender, social status, or even financial status due to the fact that the clothing may not portray the wearer as they seem to portray themselves.

For example, an individual that is female may not enjoy to present as feminine, but, enjoys and feels more comfortable presenting herself with more masculine apparel. However, many are quick to judge the individual as a transexual, or a homosexual due to the fact that they do not present corresponding to their gender or sex, thus creating a weapon for bullying and harassment towards that individual. Therefore, the victim of the majority's judgment, is then thrown into a thought of neglect and hate by the public and feels that she or he does not fit in with the rest of everyone else.

Branching from this idea is that dress codes almost always prohibit students that identify as transgender, from wearing clothes that best fit their own identification. Though the students know what they identify as, they confuse the school's administration deeming the transgender students “inappropriate’’. Moreover, trans students yearn to break from the social stigma of what looks wrong and inappropriate and are hindered from expressing the way they emotionally and physically feel by physically wearing emotions, using

When someone plans to go out in public they almost always ensure they look presentable in some way. The reason for this is since that individuals rely on peers and others to boost the wearer’s self esteem, and self confidence. Individuals need self esteem to create relationships and friendships with others, if the individual does not have any form of confidence, they may attempt to use clothing to attract others. However, self esteem may be affected in a negative way, with the judgment in others eyes, the wearer may be repelled from others inferring that they are not up to par with the rest of the trends in the general public.

This brings us to the last, final idea of this discussion. The majority of the population seek fashion guidance from the latest top trending models. However, these models are portrayed in impractical body sizes, and vastly expensive clothing that are visible to the vast majority.
