Plastic Surgery-A Way to Become More Beautiful, or Someone’s Unhealthy Idea?
In our culture, a lot of times people advise us to compare ourselves with others. We are bombarded with “The perfect nose”, “Reclaim and Reshape your body”, “Get rid of your muffin top”, etc. This is not the best way of thinking. There are many reasons to change this way of thinking and to begin comparing ourselves only with ourselves. Love the person that you see looking back at you in the mirror. This is the way it should be, and in this paper I will discuss some of the most important reasons for this.
The first reason to avoid comparing yourself to others is that there will always be someone better looking than you. Plastic surgery is not the answer. It doesn’t matter in which aspect, but it is always true. Modern plastic surgery can alter any aspect of physical appearance, from facial features to body shape. Not all cosmetic surgeries are bad. Some are done for medical reasons, such as reconstruction surgery after an accident, while other procedures are voluntary. You should always weigh the pros and cons before having plastic surgery. This can help individuals determine whether this is the

Sometimes plastic surgery does not produce the results the patient desires. For these reasons it is very important to ensure that you get a board certified surgeon who specializes in exactly the procedure you want done. Do not expect unrealistic results, such as that surgery will make you look like a movie star or automatically solve your personal problems. Stop comparing yourself to others. One who compares him/ her self with others is judging, and this does not help us develop as human beings. And finally, plastic surgery can be extremely expensive and is usually not covered by medical

Shortly after the horrific death of Donda West, son Kanye West appeared on the Dr. Phil show to discuss the risks of getting plastic surgery. Donda died the following day after a tummy tuck and breast reduction surgery. Her plastic surgeon, Dr. Jan Adams is to blame. In another case, young Lori also went under the knife of Dr. Jan Adams and also appeared on the Dr. Phil show after a frantic experience. In Lori’s case, she wanted to fix one implanted breast because it was unusually saggier than her other breast. Dr. Adams knew what needed to be done to correct the problem. However, that’s not exactly what happened. Following the surgery, Lori experienced a terrible pain, and noticed that her chest had been greatly damaged. She also noticed that her left breast was much bigger than her right. When Lori confronted Dr. Adams about her problems he just looked at her and laughed. After seven long years of excruciating pain, Lori finally went to see another doctor to have the surgery redone. During the surgery, the doctor realized that there was something in Lori’s breast that was foreign because as he was cutting, his tool started smoking and the smell was horrific. Lori’s doctor found a piece of a sponge left behind from Dr. Adams surgery seven years ago, and the horrid smell was due to an infection that has increased greatly over time. Luckily, the infection hadn’t yet been life threatening. There are many risks of getting plastic surgery, especially when it is performed in other countries.
In conclusion, cosmetic surgery is not a solution to peer pressure, insecurity and bullying , in contrary, it increases depression rate for most people, causes selfdestruction for most cases, and damgages ones selfesteem after idolizing celebrities who have the perfect figure.
Many people today feel insecure about their bodies. They feel that people will judge them more if they have a crooked nose or eyes that are too close to each other. Some get liposuction if they feel too fat or breast implants because they think it will make them more attractive to the opposite sex. These people who do not feel happy about the way their bodies portray themselves to others often feel that way because, according to psychologist Alan Feingold, “Physically attractive people often receive preferential treatment and are perceived by others as more sociable, dominant, mentally healthy, and intelligent than less attractive people.” (Feingold, 304-341) The individuals who think they are ugly can transform themselves from “ugly ducklings” to “swans” by using plastic surgery.
Cosmetic surgery is essentially not a bad thing. Some people suffer facial and body injuries or are born with a deformity which can only be corrected by plastic surgery. Cosmetic surgery can also be a life saver in cases of extreme obesity. However, some people-especially young females- are becoming too obsessed with their looks and body. The quest of finding the perfect body has led many to the operating table, opting for multiple cosmetic surgeries.
My research paper will explain the benefits of plastic surgery. People often have a lot of doubt when it comes to plastic surgery, but it can actually have many positive attributes, both physically and psychologically such as improving one’s health, lifestyle, and confidence
The main reason that should people do a plastic surgery, because of plastic surgery help to improve wounds caused by accident, removes the inferiority complex or birth defects
Some people’s obsession with plastic surgery is obviously getting out of control. It starts with only getting one thing fixed or corrected but then quickly escalates and before you know it, a face that once was all-flesh turns into plastic. According to a study conducted by Nigel Mercer (2009), “The number of official cosmetic surgeries has more than tripled to 34,000 since 2003”. The two reasons why plastic surgery should be banned are because of its high health risks, and because of the additional pressure it puts on people to look picture-perfect.
A person doesn’t have to go through an experience such as bullying, weight loss or an accident to undergo modification surgery. Plastic surgery is a trend that has many people on the tips of their toes but honestly plastic surgery is a good thing. A person should feel good about him or herself on the inside and out no matter what they look like. It does receive a bad connotation because some people do it for the wrong reasons. Undergoing surgery for those who have been bullied or teased can alleviate those harsh memories of being tormented in their younger years. Body contouring after weight loss gives the person who lost all the weight truly feel that they succeeded in something that a lot of people struggle to do. Having the same appearance again due to surgery after a horrible accident can improve a person life tremendously. Reconstructive surgery was created for the reason to improve and modify different areas of the body where people are
Not all the time it can go wrong some people are lucky and look good as ever. Getting plastic surgery can make you look younger and that is a common reason why people get plastic surgery is to look young again. Surgery can fix the defects on an individual’s body like birth defects, tumors, wound care. The facial surgeries could help individuals who have snoring problems and it could help people who have deformities on there nose to help them breath right. An Approving appearance can improve or increase an individual’s confidence. Which would put a really big boost on the individual’s self
Preview: Today I am going to share with you about three major perils from cosmetic surgery. It only transforms the outside appearances, but does not help to heal the lack of confidence and illnesses inside patients. It also brings diseases and disorders, and finally negatively influences youth.
Flipping through the pages of Vogue's latest edition, 23 year-old Susan seems quite upset. She struggles with the thought of lacking the perfect body and delicate features in order to be considered attractive. Surprisingly, Susan is not alone in this kind of an internal struggle. In contemporary society, every other woman aspires to have the lips of Angelina Jolie and the perfect jaw line of Keira Knightley. Society today looks down upon individuals that do not fit in, whether in terms of body shape or facial attractiveness. This forces them to consider the option of 'ordering beauty.' Since cosmetic surgery is no longer a social taboo in America given its widespread popularity, more people are promoting it which ultimately affects the rest of the world due to the unwavering influence of American culture. Cosmetic surgery should be deterred in the US because it promotes the idea of valuing appearance over ability, gives rise to unrealistic expectations, and brings with it high cost to society.

There has been a substantial increase in cosmetic surgery being performed on individuals to enhance their looks leading to perception of beauty being changed in society. Many people who receive cosmetic surgery claimed that the surgery has improved their overall mental and physical well being. We must understand that, the most crucial and motivating factor of people wanting cosmetic surgery is through body image. There is two components of constructs in body image, body image through orientation, refers to how important the body is to the person. The second leading factor for cosmetic surgery is body image evaluation,
