Children love to draw even if that’s drawing on the wall of their home or creating a masterpiece on the table. If they are not satisfied with their drawing they can modify it and make it better to their extent. Plastic surgery is just that. It is changing or modifying the way someone looked for different reasons. Dating back to ancient times and its most basic form, plastic surgery has been apart of the world for many centuries (Kalantar-Hormozi, 2013). Since then it has advanced enormously and in society today any part of the body can be manipulated. Traumatic injuries that cause disfiguration could be burn injuries, auto accidents, and devastating accidents. The Plastic Surgery Statistics Report recorded that a total of 5,769,824 reconstructive procedures took place in the year 2014 (2014 Reconstructive Plastic Surgery Statistics, 2014). That statistic shows that many people consider and go through with reconstructive plastic surgery after an unfortunate event. A person doesn’t have to go through an experience such as bullying, weight loss or an accident to undergo modification surgery. Plastic surgery is a trend that has many people on the tips of their toes but honestly plastic surgery is a good thing. A person should feel good about him or herself on the inside and out no matter what they look like. It does receive a bad connotation because some people do it for the wrong reasons. Undergoing surgery for those who have been bullied or teased can alleviate those harsh memories of being tormented in their younger years. Body contouring after weight loss gives the person who lost all the weight truly feel that they succeeded in something that a lot of people struggle to do. Having the same appearance again due to surgery after a horrible accident can improve a person life tremendously.
