Opportunity
Ever since Trump’s recent election in 2016. Immigrants, illegal or legal, have been a big target Trump has been attacking. You wonder what makes an immigrant illegal and legal. To start an illegal immigrant is a person living in the U.S. who crossed U.S. borders illegally. The legal way is to have a immigrant visa. What is the big deal whether an immigrant is illegal or legal. Some people view them as people who takes jobs away from Americans. Though it is true illegal few immigrants do have low skilled jobs, many of them are human like us. Wanting to achieve a better life in a place where “opportunity” arises. The immigrants shall stay in this country.
In “Angels in America”, the life of Angel Espinoza is the main idea. More specifically about his legal status. Immigrants, like him, comes to this country with very little knowledge of the laws and english. Not being able to speak English well makes life harder as an immigrant. Most immigrants do not have great jobs too. Taking small jobs as a dishwasher or other labours like that. Even though this life sounds hard. Life like this is what some immigrants view as a better life than from where their from. Wanting a better life for themselves and their children is sadly viewed as

Away from legal citizens of America. Numbers of low skilled worker has increased due to immigration. Normally low skilled workers varies from either students, housewives or retired people who wishes to work. However there are the unfortunate fews who have failed in life and have to do such jobs. Immigrants as low skilled worker has increased to do to the fact their wages may be exploited. This in turns put immigrants as a prefered low income worker. A few illegal immigrants that works also don’t file taxes. The tiny fraction of money that don’t get collected. Is money taken away from the pool of money the government uses for the United
It is said that immigrants come to this country for a better life, then that is what they should try to do for themselves. In most cases they just end up working low-paying, dead end jobs. If you come to america for a better life then you should put forth the effort to better yourself rather than just barely scraping by. Most immigrants tend to work the manual labor jobs that do not require a lot of other human interaction. “ While U.S. government mounds its huge effort to stop people from entering the country illegally, many American employers continually show their eagerness to give them jobs.” (Crest 72) Many immigrants use government assistance such as welfare and food stamps. Immigrants using government assistance tends to anger people because they feel like illegals are using the taxes that they pay to live their life while not paying taxes on their own. Trump suggests building a wall but I do not believe that will work very well at warding off the influx of immigrants, they will find other ways of entering our great country. Some argue that immigrants do the jobs that most Americans would not want to do themselves, at a much lower pay rate. Often illegals are paid under the minimum wage because employers do not have to register them as employees. Many illegals are often seen working in the construction business, gardening, roofing, concrete work, house cleaning, etc. This is because most of those are hard work or thought of as blue collar work that often does not pay enough to support a family. This being, they often have to work more than the average native born
Illegal immigrants in the United States usually come from less developed countries or at least poorly developed regions of these countries. These illegal immigrants carry a totally different knowledge of culture, legal system and human rights when they came into this country. The most these people are victimized is when they are working, sometimes, these people can't even realized when they have become victims. Because of their status, illegal immigrants, it is very rare that they can find good positions in considerably big companies to start with. Usually, small businesses will take the risk to hire illegal immigrants, sometimes it may be because of these small businesses are trying to help those illegal immigrants who share same nationality with them, but, for most of the time, these undocumented migrant workers are much cheaper and easier to manipulate.
The United States of America, being a country founded by immigrants, is known all over the world as the land of great opportunities. People from all walks of life travelled across the globe, taking a chance to find a better life for them and their family. Over the years, the population of immigrants has grown immensely, resulting in the currently controversial issue of illegal immigration. Illegal immigrants are the people who have overstayed the time granted on their US, visa or those who have broken the federal law by crossing the border illegally. Matt O’Brien stated in his article “The government thinks that 10.8 million illegal immigrants lived in the country in January 2009, down from a peak of nearly 12 million in 2007.”(Para, 2) While some argue that illegal immigrants burden the United States of America and its economy, others believe that they have become essential and are an important part of the US, economy.
Many people have come to America for a better life and to get away from all the troubles of their homeland. These immigrants, like those throughout U.S. history, are generally hard workers and make important contributions to the economy through their productive labor and purchasing power. America is considered a melting pot of many diffrent ethinic group. Immigrants should be able to enter America with little if any resistance from any border patrol. Immigrants in america take the low paying, hard labor jobs that , unfortunately, some americans don't want.
Some would say, quotes John F. Kennedy, “Everywhere immigrants have enriched and strengthened the fabric of American life.” Thus, in today’s society, we can say that immigrants are what made America possible—economically and socially. We are in a melting pot era where the impossible was made possible. From the time John F. Kennedy was elected in 1960, making a promise to change the national origins system to unite the nations of all countries equally. Hence, in 1965, under Lyndon Johnson’s administration, Kennedy’s promise came into light, amending the INS—favoring unification of families, not national origins. Although, the unification was made possible, the peacefulness never lasted.
There are over twelve million undocumented immigrants living in the United States. Many came to America to work, go to school, or be reunited with family members who are already residing here. Most migrants want to work and pursue the “American dream”. There are many barriers for residents to achieving success at the work and life balance. The immigrants fall back on public assistance to support them.

The first challenge faced by this individual was the language. Not speaking English places this person at a severe disadvantage when trying to hold even a simple conversation. When trying to attain work, lodging or even food it becomes a grave handicap and an almost impenetrable barrier. Many capitalistic members of American society utilized this handicap to their advantage as a means to swindle and outright steal from the newly arrived immigrants.

Immigration policies can dramatically change the economy United States and potentially change our daily lives. Also, relegation on immigration will easily result in changes on cultural and religious diversity and will ultimately affect everyone.
Immigration reform has been one of the “hot” topics that has been consistently at the forefront of many American discussions. At this time, there are more illegal immigrants in our country than legal immigrants. This is a major controversy in the realm of other social policies. Illegal immigration, or undocumented immigrants, refers to foreign people entering the United States without government permission or violating the immigration law. This is typically done by sneaking into the country or staying beyond the allotted time frame.
These people will not be able to rise in their employment level and will be stuck working only with their fellow immigrants. They will have to find a person who can translate their language to others and get the services, such as medical assistance, they need, very much complicating all they do. Immigrants who have learned the English language have more respect in society. They get higher positions in jobs quickly, depending on their knowledge and also they can work as language translators for other immigrants who don’t speak English. This could actually be a job category with growth. Knowing English helps immigrants feel less isolated from their new community of English-speakers. They are able to socialize, make purchases, and function daily with their neighbors, their teachers, and their colleagues at
The fact that the vast majority of immigrants come to live in the states, yet are not capable of carrying a conversation with a native speaker makes them extremely vulnerable. English is indeed one of the most difficult languages to learn, however to prosper in a country as this one, being a fluent speaker is a huge priority. A mass amount come simply pursuing a more fortunate life for themselves as well as for their families, in which one may sympathize for. Little do they know, freedom has never been free.
