The MBTI is a self-report questionnaire designed to detect an individual personality type. By taking this questionnaire, someone can be able to understand their gifts, strengths, motivation and potential area of growth. This assessment was developed in 1943 by Katharine cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Myers. Their inspiration came from the ideas of a Swiss psychiatrist named Carl Jung, whose theory stated that people are innately different. His terms were people take information differently, see the world differently and make decisions differently. He stated that “what appears to be random behavior is actually the result of differences in the way people prefer to use their mental capacities “. The characteristics that match the most with my personality are dependable, considerate and committed to people I associate with. Furthermore, when making decisions I always put forth my personal values and how my decision will impact others. When I first joined college, my roommate tried to force me to drink and go to parties knowing I detested those ideas. My parents and my church taught drinking, and attending inappropriate parties wasn 't allowed. Although my decision made me lose my only friend, I was proud of standing up for my values. Some of the characteristics listed with this personality that I don 't agree with are feeling unappreciated, resentful and complain a lot. Although it 's always great to receive praise for helping others, I help for the sake of karma and blessing beyond simple praise. My MBTI career report summarizes my MBTI results which stated my assessment preferences and its clarity. It says that I focus my attention on the inner world, take information using five senses, make decision based on my values and like planned and organized approach to life. The second section shows how my personality type affects my career choice along with my preferences. My preferred tasks related to my personality are providing help to others and devising efficient procedures to meet goals. It shows twenty two occupations and rank them in popularity based on information from a sample of 92,000 people; in 282 jobs who said they were satisfied with their jobs. Of the twenty two occupations listed for ISFJ, they are divided into 3 groups, the most attractive, moderately attractive and least attractive. Most attractive offers the best opportunity to find an occupation where someone can use their natural presences and be satisfied. The moderately attractive may, or may not offer expressing preferences depending on the task or work environment. The least attractive ISFJ is associated with jobs that doesn’t offer any expression whatsoever. The career trends type for ISFJ are divided into two primary groups of occupations. The largest group involves working in office and administration which requires careful attention and relevant ideas. The other group implicates that I fit to work in the health care field where I can take on a variety of roles that allows me to provide direct and practical help to others. The most popular occupations for my type are bank teller, registered nurse and Home Health Aide. I could find these occupations satisfying to me because it involves helping other individuals and advise them on what’s best to do. As a home health Aide I could help patients who have memory problems in reminding them to do their daily tasks or be a look out on their movements. The least
