Personal Narrative: Self Personality Assessment
After completing the assessment exercise I have been able to carefully my personality. The exercise consisted of an evaluation of four areas: Locus of Control, Personality Type, Stress Reactions, and Learning Styles.
Based on the test results my locus of control is external. According to our text, Individuals who fall into this category do not believe that their future is within their control. They believe that it is more influenced by external forces. I agree somewhat with this assessment of myself. Although I also feel that some portions of our lives can be influenced greatly by our own inner desires and motivations. My interests are also centered on the outside world. This is consistent with the description at the end of the exercise. I thrive in situations where I can be around and mingle with large groups of people. I grew up in a very large family and this helped to shape my personality. However, I do enjoy quiet time and occasionally working on my own.
My personality type is Extroverted, intuitive, feeling, perceptive or ENFP. According to the description in the exercise, ENFP's are warm, enthusiastic and live their outer life more with intuition and their inner more with feeling. This assessment is consistent with the results that I received in part I of the exercise. I am an extroverted person who enjoys being around and working with people.

I also want to be involved in the goal setting process for the company and myself. Although I enjoy working with people, I need a high degree of independence to flourish. I also want to work with a manager who is interested in creating a motivating environment. Positive reinforcement is the tool that appeals to me the most. I would like to be rewarded as I achieve a goal or set a new standard.
I work well in group situations. I always try to encourage all members to participate and contribute. It is interesting to note that in most situations, I tend to be one of the group leaders. I do have a strong personality. Yet I try not to come across as controlling or bossy.
The next subset of my personality is Intuition. Intuition, and the converse, Sensing, describes the way that I take in information. As someone with a highly developed intuition, I focus of the future and trust my insights. Intuitives are less concerned with current data then with visioning ideas for the future. The negative implications of intuitives is an often sense absent-mindedness by others, as well the possibility of overlooking current issues, as I envision the future.
Within the Jung Typology Test (JTT) it states that my type of personality is introverted, sensing, feeling and judging. The results indicated I am an introvert over extrovert, the score showed 56%. There was a marginal or no preference to sensing over intuition at 1% for this result. Moderate preference to feeling over thinking at 25%, and a strong preference to judging over perceiving at 78%. So this is saying that I am an introverted sensing with extroverted feeling.
For this project; I will be discussing the findings of my personality type. According to “Jung’s Personality Test”, I am an ENTJ. Does personality testing define the final word on how we live our lives or interact in work environments, in academic settings, and within relationships? Recognized as a starting point, it confirms our strengths and weaknesses, assists in self-reflection, supports decision-making, enhances interaction with others, and designates where we reside along the personality spectrum. The following will explore my own personality preference, an explanation of my polar opposite persona, and the investigation into life situations and strategies.
According to the Keirsey temperament sorter assessment, the temperament type that fits my personality is ESTJ (Extroversion, Sensing, Thinking, Judging) (Keirsey & Bates, 1984).
The characteristics that match the most with my personality are dependable, considerate and committed to people I associate with. Furthermore, when making decisions I always put forth my personal values and how my decision will impact others. When I first joined college, my roommate tried to force me to drink and go to parties knowing I detested those ideas. My parents and my church taught drinking, and attending inappropriate parties wasn 't allowed. Although my decision made me lose my only friend, I was proud of standing up for my values. Some of the characteristics listed with this personality that I don 't agree with are feeling unappreciated, resentful and complain a lot. Although it 's always great to receive praise for helping others, I help for the sake of karma and blessing beyond simple praise. My MBTI career report summarizes my MBTI results which stated my assessment preferences and its clarity. It says that I focus my attention on the inner world, take information using five senses, make decision based on my values and like planned and organized approach to life. The second section shows how my personality type affects my career choice along with my preferences. My preferred tasks related to my personality are providing help to others and devising efficient procedures to meet goals. My Personality Preference is INTJ, which stands for Introversion, Intuitive, Thinking and Judging. Another name for INTJ is The Scientist or The Architect. The Scientist personality type often prefer to work alone or in small groups of people who think the same way they do, due to their Introverted way of working. While I agree that I work well alone, I also enjoy assuming the role of leadership when I do have to work in groups. However, this is not unexpected because The Scientist personality type is known for being excellent leaders despite their introverted tendencies. My personality type is known for determination in educational studies as well as open-mindedness and flexibility toward new things. These qualities will help me succeed academically
Hence, I can utilize my strengths and manage my weaknesses to be a better member in future group assignments. In particular, I will focus on utilizing my personality traits in moderation as either extremes of high or low on a personality may be too rigid, being an extreme strength in certain situations, but being an extreme weakness in others. Despite having a low extraversion, I can still take a more active role in future discussions by sharing all constructive ideas instead of shying out and worrying of others’ negative feedback. I will also balance between orderliness and flexibility by proposing general deadlines for our group and at the same time allowing members to organize their own progress so that we can have organization in the group without suffocating the members. With more flexibility given, I will keep in mind to be agreeable in moderation in which I will be trusting and compassionate to the members but also able to be firm if any member is slacking or not meeting our deadlines. The details listed above are just part of my personality and working style that can be improved upon which serve as general guidelines for me to contribute more to future group assignments. However, they should not be viewed as rigid rules which I will follow blindly. I will always remember that I am working with a group of people with various personality traits and I should approach each member with ways that may improve our productivity instead of treating them as the same and that a single method will suit everyone, since that would reduce the uniqueness of each
more aware of my personality type, “(ISTJ) I am an Introvert (34%) Sensing (12%) Thinking

I am sentimental, out-going, indecisive, understanding, curious, naive, lazy, and young. I want to be ... , well a lot of things, and growing is discovering what they are. I feel people cannot see the potential within, although there is no one to blame but myself. I look to others for approval instead of to myself. I aim to please; it leads to approval. I don’t like to discuss my faults; I pity myself.
