According to Rowe (2001), strategic leadership is what drives organizations to make profits that are above the average. Personally, I have experienced strategic leadership. This occurred sometimes when I was working for a certain firm as an intern. What I liked about the firm is the fact that I felt the drive to go to work every day and early in the morning. This did not just occur because of the impression that I wanted to create as an intern, but because I loved working.
With strategic leadership, leaders motivate their employees, they portray care and the desire to see them progress in life. This implies that strategic leaders place their focus on the welfare of their employees in order to drive them too works hard and smart. Employees …show more content…

In this firm, I could hear some employees telling me that they have worked there since the firm started; which was approximately 15 years ago. This is an indicator that their level of satisfaction among the employees is high; which s a reflection of the kind of leadership in the firm; strategic leadership.
Additionally, the firm had grown so much and had expanded to other areas as it had opened some branches in other states. This is also another indicator that it was doing well, which still reflects that the leadership in the firm is good. Finally, strategic leaders will often offer their employees incentives and benefits such as medical insurance and this motivates the employees. With high job satisfaction, there is low employee turnover, high production thus high profits and it reflects good leadership. Strategic leaders like this one, always create wealth for the employees and the firm.

Such leaders know the right buttons to push in order to steer growth and to increase the firm’s profits. They understand that growth and wealth creation is not just achieved through pressuring the employees or supervising them. Rather, it is achieved through setting smart goals, empowering the employees and focusing on their well being and success. Through this way, the employees will even feel indebted to the firm. They work hard to achieve the set goals and they do so willingly and sometimes, do not even need supervision.
