I. Moral Deliberation An ethical business person is one who does the right thing, no matter what the situation. Ethics to me is a set of rules that advise how one must live their life, in an ethical manner. Business to me is something people engage in, in order to obtain resources for themselves and also their loved ones. As an ethical business person, these two things should go side by side. One who has high moral standards should be able to uphold their moral standards in the business world. They should be able to uphold these standards not just in the work that they do, but also do it when it comes to life outside of work because they know this is the “right” thing to do, and without morals they will no longer have a place in society. …show more content…

The retaliation I might get from standing up for myself is something that worries me. I am quick to understand when I am in a situation where I should stand up for myself, but sometimes the retaliation you might get from a boss or the shunning from a friend/family member, isn’t worth the battle. Also, I am more reluctant to act if the matter is not one that concerns me. If I am not directly involved, I feel that I need to be invited into the scenario before I can act morally. I think that society has just made me feel like a “snitch” if I jump into quickly or that I feel “entitled” if I am standing up for myself. Overcoming these obstacles are just a matter of being exposed. If I am able to jump into a situation or stand up for my values when presented, I feel the next time I am faced with a challenge it will go smoother. I also would like to note that these issues do not arise for me very often. I am not sure if I am not aware, or if my life is just so routine that there is no room for these situations. I don’t believe it’s favorable to be in an ethical dilemma, but I hope to be presented with some along the way that will help me build a strong moral
