In my opinion the most unique thing about science is that it always evolves and is always changing even if we don’t particularly notice. With the ever so changing science world comes something called citizen science which is the public involvement in inquiry and discovery of new scientific knowledge. A citizen science project can involve one person or millions of people collaborating towards a common goal. Typically, public involvement is in data collection, analysis, or reporting. The air quality egg is a way to monitor pollutant levels within the environment around you. You are also able to compare data with others and search the data of other eggs worldwide. (“Air Quality Egg and the Makers.” Citizen Sense) These carry concern in that without clean air for us, life is essentially impossible. We as a society should always be aware of the air we breathe, and ultimately what is being released into it. Aside from just humans just about every organism we know depends on clean air and would cease to exist without it, so clean air isn’t just critical for us but ultimately the majority of the earth depends on it. From an early age, I’ve always found air quality interesting, in my case mainly because I live in an area that is substantial on logging. As someone who already adores science I had no other choice but to pay attention to the air, with many trees being cut down and various industrial plants around, I felt I had to remain environmentally aware. I’ve always wanted to find ways to innovate our factories and plants so that the air isn’t injured in the way it is repeatedly from these things.
