We, as humans, were a disgrace in the time of the Holocaust. We did not listen to people who had spoken out about Hitler and his intentions. We chose to stay out of it, in hopes it would work itself out despite the evidence we had. We, as in the world, did not do anything to protect citizens, our neighbors and our brothers and sisters. It was wrong of Germany, The United States, the other nations and people of the world who did not listen to those who spoke out in early Germany.
(Chomsky n. pag.) There seems to be proof that the Holocaust never actually happened, but this “proof” is actually just theories that some revisionists have about the Holocaust. For example, David Brandt Berg, also known as “Moses David,” held many of his group's tracts with anti-Jewish rants and occasional denials of the Holocaust, such as, "You hear all about Hitler and how he was supposed to have killed 6 million Jews! Well, they've never been able to prove yet that he even killed 60,000!” And then Attorney Edgar J. Steele, a revisionist, claims the photographs of emaciated and dying Jews were just pictures of skinny people and bodies stacked like wood were actually of Czechs, Poles, and Germans who died of typhus.

As Albert Einstein once said, “The world is too dangerous to live in, not because of the people who do evil, but because of the people who sit and let it happen.” The horrific accounts told of the Holocaust, inside the ghettos, symbolize the negligence shown to others during World War II. World War II started with Germany attacking Poland on September 1, 1939 (World War II in Europe). Many citizens of the surrounding countries were terrified because of the horrendous acts they heard of. Hitler took over and tried to kill as many Jews as he could. The word ghetto did not originate during the time of the Holocaust; ghettos have been referred to the sixteenth century (Ghettos).
Families were torn apart. Incredible physical su... ... middle of paper ... ...the socialists, and I did not speak out because I was not a socialist. Then they came for the labor leaders, and I did not speak out because I was not a labor leader. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak out for me.” Let’s stand up against cruelty when they come for others, not just when they come for us.
