The Getty Museum currently has a Theodore Gericauilt 18th Century art piece known as, “Study of a Model.” Its placed in the location of the West Pavilion Gallery, next to his other piece, “Three Lovers,” and “Justice and Divine Vengeance Pursuing Crime,” by Pierre-Paul Prud’hon. The arts are hung up on a light grey wall background, with artificial and natural light that is covered by blinds approaching from the top. Most of the lighting on the paintings comes from the natural lighting. In addition, all three pieces have a wooden gold frame, leaf coverage texture and the featured last names of Pierre and Theodore. There are many direct contrast from one another, an important opposition is, Gericauilt depicts an African American rescue that is highly emotional with watery eyes. He illustrates a hint of white oil paint to make a drastic showcase that the soldier has an emotional fright in his eyes after the raft that he was in, resulted in being drifted away with the aftereffect of fifteen rescues and 125 dead (The J. Paul Getty Museum, 2015). Gericauilt also displays the rescues hair to be very dirty and not comb. The model's hair tends to have shades of dark grey mixed with his natural black hair, I believe that his hair has not been washed, due to the reason of discoloration. In addition, his Afro has not looked like he has combed it, since his hair is sticking up rather than being present neatly for a portrait. Let alone, the model uniform does not present as if has been cleaned, the collar looks wrinkled and not worn presentably. If it was presentably worn, the model would his collar button up his neck as well for not having many wrinkles on his nor on the collar. Lastly, the model depicts to have bags under his eyes and a hint of red on his cornea. I believe that, the model was crying before the art was drawn, since red and puffy eyes showcase the act of
