The Eight Multiple Intelligences When we think about intelligent, the first thing comes to our mind is a smart person. A person how has a higher score than other people in school. A person how has a high score in the intelligent tests, such as IQ test and GAT test. However, Harvard Professor Howard Gardner believes that intelligence is not about a high grade on the IQ test. In his 1993 book Frames of Mind: The Theory of Multiple Intelligences, he found that all people skills can be defined into eight different areas. The eight multiple intelligences are linguistic, logical mathematical, musical, bodily-kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, spatial, and naturalist. Those people whom have the logical mathematical intelligence are more likely to be stronger than other people in math. They can calculate and play with a huge numbers. Also, they are strong at solving problems (Stephen, 2004). Musical intelligence is the ability to understand and play music. People with this kind of intelligence can memorize song easily. Also they can sing a song very will. Moreover, they are more sensitive to the music because they can recognize them. Also, people with musical intelligence can play with different types of musical instruments. A good singer is an example of a person who has musical intelligence. Bodily-kinesthetic intelligence revers to the ability to control the movement of the body. People with this kind of intelligence can use their body better than other, and they can do different types of physical action. For example, basketball players and dancers move different than normal people because they can use their body better than normal people. Interpersonal intelligence helps people to have a good relationship because it helps them to understand other people. People with this intelligence can understand people feelings and moods. Also, those people have a great leadership skill because they can understand other people (Driscoll & Nagel, 2010). Politicians and sales people are good example of those people whom have interpersonal intelligence. Intrapersonal intelligence known as the ability to understand our self. Intrapersonal intelligence helped us to know our strengths and weaknesses, so we can work on them (Driscoll & Nagel, 2010). People whom understand them self and attempt to achieve their goal have Intrapersonal intelligence. A person who know him self very well is more likely to achieve what he wants because he know his strengths and weaknesses. Spatial intelligence reference to the ability to imagine the real world or draw a picture in the mind. People with this intelligence can easily read maps and charts, draw, and solve puzzles (Stephen, 2004).
