There are many definitions of art and styles of art, however, the aim of this paper will focus on the visual arts, primarily on “What is Good Art.” Mediums considered to be visual arts includes, visual arts are original pictorial, graphic, and sculptural works, which include two-dimensional and three-dimensional works of fine, graphic, and applied art. People, for some reason, believe good or bad art, is in the “eyes of the beholder.” People are entitled to their preference, but just like everything in life, there are standards to which to draw from, even when it comes to art. Good Art will build upon immature and mature technical skills, constantly building new techniques in a method within the arts. Additionally, good art can be influenced by a changing environment. Basically, depending on the purposes the art is used for, such as an Art, Humanity or historical classes, will require a different analysis of the artworks, then say, an advertising Market or an auction for art or a tour of the museum. Time also play a role in art expression, different era, society and events have influenced what is considered good art. Good artworks are constantly evolving, giving a different perspective and interact with each view.
