There are various benefits to computer conferencing however there are
still a few problems. The best way to eliminate most of these problems
is to diversify the ways of communication.

An explanation to the benefits of computer conferencing and
collaborative technologies
Methodology
===========
Well I used the search engine yahoo I typed in "what is computer
conferencing" then looked through all the websites available. However
the subject matter was too broad so went to advanced search and
excluded the word equipment because I was getting too many websites
offering the equipment. The evidence for this is on the references
it's the yahoo website.
Findings
========
Firstly I would like to explain what computer conferencing does. It is
the gives the opportunity for interactive group communication,
learning and decision-making. This is done by the use of software and
either the Internet or a network.
The key features of computer conferencing are;
* Asynchronous Communication - This means that communication is not
affected by geographical location or time zones.
* Structured Communication - the software separates different
conferences.
* Text Based Communication - this mean that the communication is
text based.
* Group involvement - most of the communication takes place in large

It is crucial that individuals take precautions when using technology to have conversations with others. Due to the fact that it can be dangerous, effective telephone communication is very important. Before using technology as communication devices, it is a good idea to know the main issues regarding it. It is also a good idea to know about any recent developments and how it affects its users. By making sure the technology has high ratings and positive feedback, there is a greater chance that you will be happier with the outcome of your purchase.

Online learning is now a reality, with distributed learning and blended learning becoming more widely used in Higher Education (Whatley, 1999). Online learning has many advantages and disadvantages. Teamwork in online environments is becoming a widely used tool, whether it is in business or education. A team working together has more and better input than individuals working alone. This results in better ideas and decisions and higher quality output. Virtual teams are a good way to enable teamwork in situations where people are not sitting in the same physical office at the same time. The effective team-building requires the combination of clear team goals, empowerment, atmosphere of trust within the team, authentic participation of every member of team, innovative approach to work and ability to manage risks, proper leadership and ability to make the constructive changes.
The methods of communicating for a virtual team consist of different tools than used by a traditional team because “…awareness of others’ activities is more difficult and requires some degree of technological intervention” (Fussell et.al., 1998, p. 276). A virtual team needs to use alternative tools because it has members working from different geographical areas and possibly at different times. A traditional team meets face to face, whereas a virtual team needs the use of technology to operate and interact efficiently. Teleconferencing, video conferencing, faxing, e-mail, and instant messaging are some of the tools available to a virtual team.
In fact, it has become so convenient that there is almost no need to meet in person if everything can be done online. For instance, instead of having to meet each other for group work in school, it is much easier and convenient to make a group chat, meet online, and do the work that way. It is quick, fairly simple and does not take too much energy to accomplish. That is why people prefer online communication because it is not as much of a hassle compared to actually meet up with a person to discuss an idea or, in terms of gaming, hang out with one another. In this application, technology is all benefitting the group because it barely affects their
It is difficult to escape the influence of technology on modern life. It lurks behind every door: the classroom, home, office, and store. There are many who are resistant to new technology, saying that technology causes harm to society. These claims are often made without the realization that technology also includes important and indispensable parts in their life such as writing and the tools for writing. Writing was one of the first technologies invented. Technology has now become so entrenched in the majority of cultures around the world that it is hard to imagine a life or society without writing. For those that maintain a majority of technology beyond writing is harmful, imagine the difficulty in writing without the help of other technologies, which includes pencils, paper, computers, printing presses, and a number of other technological aids.
The first task my learning team was confronted with was coming up with an effective method of communicating. "High-performing teams have extensive communication mechanisms. They communicate regularly with each other wither in person, via telephone, or through e-mail and keep those unable to attend meetings informed of the group's progress." (Teams in the Workplace, Pg. 317) We decided to use an Instant Messenger chat for its real time communication and message logging ability to allow us to keep those not able to make the chat informed.
The world is getting smaller, yet remains full of possibilities due in part to technology. Interestingly, the very first emails could only be sent to someone using two computers, literally side by side. Technology dates back to the first manipulations of materials to assist in human survival. There are many definitions for technology, John D. Carl describes technology stating,” it deals with the creation, use, and application of knowledge and its’ interrelation with life, society, and the environment” (Carl, J.D., 2011, p.301). For the purpose of this paper, any instrument, invention, or method influencing and allowing people to control or adapt to their environment, is technology. With the increased availability of technological tools (smart phones, text messaging, image scanning, email, and social media), communication is rapidly changing. Society has moved beyond the Industrial Age and into the Information Age, where the sharing of knowledge and ideas is the new driver of power and world economy. Technology possesses many merits, and as with any tool, it carries drawbacks. Misuse and overuse creates unsavory dependence. This dependence can have adverse affects on people, business, and education. Technology receives vast criticism for reducing face-to-face interactions. Although the information technology of today is widely held as impersonal, it promotes communication; technology reduces costs and leverages productivity by facilitating access to information and knowledge, and augmenting interaction amongst those who utilize technology.
Face-to-face communication allows the entire experience to not only be heard but also seen and felt. Face-to-face training also adds a personal element to a workshop as opposed to computer-based education. “
Effective communication is essential for success, both for organizations as a whole and individuals working in those organizations. “Ambition and great ideas aren’t enough; you need to be able to communication with people in order to succeed in business.” (Bovee & Thill, 2014) Using technology as a tool to communicate can be effective at times, but it does not replace interacting with coworkers face-to-face. Effective listening is an important part of effective communication. Good communication is essential to managing and working in a productive

The statement, which says, “depending on computer” has been a controversial issue since it was invented. Some people believe that computer has unpleasant effects on people’s lives, such as destroying social communication, affecting people’s health, and limiting their creativity. On other hand, some people think that computer has presented a lot of benefits on people’s lives. For instance, it has developed education, increased knowledge about the universe, and reduced time working. In my opinion, I believe strongly that a positive side has a right presenting because computer has provided a lot of benefits on our life such as enhancing many ways to develop education, contributing to discover and determine different planets, and making life easier.
