All dreams remain alive until one sees straight into the eyes of the new world. Which at first glance seems like paradise, but only to let one be deceived by the false promises which the American Dream fails to accomplish. The new world being “America” has been the home to explorers, dreamers, innovators, and anything else the New World has to offer. However, this found sense of Hope has been built upon greed, conflict, and even death of so many innocent lives. The American Dream does not exist for those who were put through hell from the way of how their freedom was ripped away for the gain of others. As the American Dream banished from the minds of one group it remains alive in another, specifically common Americans. In a poll conducted by The Atlantic with nearly 2,000 respondents, many Americans remain optimistic and content with their own lives. What's most revealing as stated by The Atlantic,”many Americans go so far as to say they are living the American Dream.” however, these are the same respondents when asked, “Is the American Dream Suffering?” Voted yes and went as far to say that their children will find it more difficult to achieve such a goal. With their minds set on mixed emotions the American Dream remains within hand's reach with hard work and elbow grease, but even then the mere fact of being undocumented can through away years of hard work. Hard work which has been noticed by Time Magazine by displaying to the world with a cover titled, “We are Americans just not legally.” The intent of such issue was to ensure that the public eye had seen the light which shines from diversity. A light that shines from Lucia, Erika, Manuel, Camila, Mandeep, Myung, Luis, Tatevik, Nataly, Wilian, Jong, Jose, and millions across the Nation. With one of the names being Jose Antonio Vargas, who has a dream of seeing his mother once more after a long 19 years. A dream that came not from the American Dream point of view, but was a cause of chasing such a dream. With the “Who” was the American Dream meant for narrowing down, immigrants continue to arrive in the land once declared “the land of the free.” However, we always hear about what it means to be an immigrant from an adult's perspective that many forget that their children are immigrants as well, if not by birth than by culture.
