How is technology changing the pig farms?What would you say if I told you that technology in the pig farming business actually mattered?Technology really does affects the way a pig lives? In the 18th century pig farming was completely different than it is today. So how does technology affect the pig industry? What are the kinds of technology are used in the pig industry what do they do? I am going to answer all of these questions. Why are pigs important? Pigs are important to many of reasons. Pigs give us meat to eat. They give us pork,bacon,sausages, and ham and their skins are used for leather, their bristly hair for brushes, and their organs for life saving medical substances. The pig organs are similar to humans.People also raise pigs to show and breed. People show pigs all over America.Some people keep pigs as a companion animal.Pigs were once used in orchards or open woodland. The herds of pigs would be taking care of by a swineherd which is like a shepherd.

Just think about how the pigs feel. How would you like it without technology in your house? How would it affect you? Well just like a house a pig barn has electricity which is considered technology. It wouldn’t be nice to be in a cold house in the winter or a hot house in the summer. So in pig pens in the bar there are cooling systems to keep the barn cool as well as the pigs ("Building a Better Pigpen").They have crates not any bigger than a coffin so the sows can farrow. They also have crates where they go through to get an ear tag("Building a Better Pigpen"). They have little scanners to scan the ear tag to make sure the right pig gets the right food("Building a Better Pigpen").
