Illegal immigration is the entry of a person or a group of persons across a country's border, in a way that violates the immigration laws of the destination country, with the intention to stay in the country, as opposed to legal immigration which is someone who has been granted authorization to live and work in the United States on a permanent basis. A reason for that would be that criminals would be harder to find, according to Jane WIlkins, 3/24/2016, Any crimes committed by illegals are very hard to come to justice with since that they are not traceable in the country because of the missing documentation and Illegal immigrants tend to commit crimes more than anyone else in the population, according to studies in 204, more than 70 percent of illegals committed crimes related to drugs and rape . Once they commit a crime they flee back into their own country. Another reason why illegal immigration should not be allowed in the united states is because of the overpopulation in the world, according to futureofworking.com, Undocumented people tend to increase the population, and often get benefits that are otherwise denied to legal immigrants. Scholarships being granted for illegals, schools being overcrowded, and public transportation as well. Although illegal immigration has its cons, the government has more to benefit from them than anything.

Illegal immigration should be allowed in the United states because of the effect is has on society, economy and labor, it contributes to society, it boosts the economy, and it impacts labor. Ojeda further argues that the current U.S. policy creates a wage floor, and if undocumented immigrants gain citizenship, the wage floor will rise, increasing the wages of all workers. The rise in wages cited in the 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) states that a comprehensive immigration reform would increase consumer consumption and wages and would increase the creation of jobs and tax revenue. This is mainly based on the concept that IRCA was implemented during a time of recession, but was still able to raise wages and investments made by immigrants. Ojeda explains, through the example of the IRCA, it is estimated that comprehensive reform, over 10 years, would create 1.5 trillion dollars in United States gross domestic product (GDP) (176). However, they add that one of the issues with the IRCA, is the lack of flexible limits set on the number of workers allowed to enter the United States.
