I concur with your assertions that trust is an integral element of the stewardship theory and processes. Probst and McGovern (2014) stated that trust refers to the confidence of all stakeholders that the organization that has been charged with stewardship duties is in fact committed to serving their best interests in a fair and open manner. In addition, Wilson (2016) also reiterates this point when he noted that by virtue of being trusted with the possessions of others, trust is automatically conferred upon the steward leaders. It is true that stewardship behavior is developed through proper social exchanges between the leader and his/her followers that transcends generations. Lussier, and Achua (2015) asserted this point when they pointed out that the hallmark of steward leaders is not only their great deeds, but also their ability to support and empower others to also attain great things. A central theme in your post is the issue of balance. You have stated that social behaviors are dependent on social exchanges that balance relationships and foster an environment of trust. In my initial post, I pointed out the relationship between stewardship and trust and stated that to generate high levels of passion among the employees, organizations should inspire trust and passion among their employees by implementing fundamental principles of steward leadership. This assertion was backed up by Block (2013) who stated that part of the meaning of the concept of stewardship is to hold the well-being of some larger entity such as the organization, the community, or the earth itself in trust. And I further explained that this implies that for leaders to effectively hold resources in trust, they must place service and the greater good ahead of control and self-interest
