Saint Augustine once said, "What does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men. That is what love looks like" (Xplore Inc). Through this love that Saint Augustine describes, we can have courage to stand up for others and assist them when it is deemed necessary. One way I have helped my community is through helping Saint Marys Parish with an Easter egg hunt. The nature of this project, why I chose to do this service, how my service has improved another's life, and other service opportunities I could have enjoyed doing are all reasons why this service has been done. By allowing Christ to work through me, I had tried to also to imitate Christ's example. Personally, the part that I thought was the most satisfying and enjoyable to see was when all of the children left with their baskets filled with candy and smiles on their faces. It was more than just taking home a basket of candy. It was about spending time with the church community and family. Lastly, based on this project, it influenced me to possibly try new service projects in the future which are similar to this one. I may want to help bake some sort of treat for an organization or event in the future, similarly to how people had brought cookies that they had made to put on the table for the egg hunt. Also, I may want to do something with children in the future such as to help be a teen group leader at the week-long Vacation Bible School over the summer. I may even just want to help in setting up or cleaning up some sort of event in the
