Storytellers bring stories that they tell into a closer time and space to further enhance the relatability of the characters and settings. The core ideas of these stories and films stays very much the same but some alteration can greatly change the outcome of the story, which is good for some audiences and not for others. Sometimes they change the story to drastically and it can take away from its value. The Snow Queen a story about an evil queen ,a corrupted friend, and, a pure hearted girl. The characters are all very intense and represent real traits in people, such as the heroine of the story the kind all loving Gerda. They don't carry the same meaning in Frozen, Anna being closely related to Gerda holds only her loving heart and admiration, infact that's the only thing she shares with Gerda. Anna's heart is far from pure and infact is a solid block of ice which is slowly killing her. The sibling like connection is more prevalent in this one but with completely different characters, Anna seeks to repair kinship not with a Kai like character but with the “snow Queen” herself. Elsa the snow queen shows the guilt of humanity rather than the evil and bitterness of it, which on its own is pretty strong but the level of balance in the characters is far from there. Kristoff isn't even in the original story and serves no real purpose in frozen but to show a different more “relevant” romantic relationship that modern kids, teenagers, and adults can more easily relate to. A goblin king called “the devil” creates a mirror which shows the bad in all who look upon it and he wants to use it to destroy god somehow. The Devil ends up dropping the mirror and freaking out but he gets an idea, he picks up all the pieces of the mirror and scatters them to the winds of the earth and it gets into people's hearts and makes their hearts freeze, they only feel the worst of emotions, it gets in their eyes and they are only able to see the bad in everything. Kai is one of these people so he can't see the line between good and bad.The ice queen takes advantage of his weakened mental state and takes kai away. Everyone in their village thinks kai has drowned in a river, Gerda isn't so sure, so she goes to look for him. They were so close and gerda loved him so much that even with the threat of death she pursues. The Snow Queen shows deep emotional connections in a story that has a dark tragic plot, this makes people want to cherish their friends the same way she did, as well as, to be better to each other through worse times which is very relatable to modern and past
