I love the goal setting piece of modeling guide helping clients with develop SMART goals we have done in class was so helpful. I have learned that developing a SMART learning goal makes sure that my goal is focused and provides a clear idea of what I want to learn. The SMART goal makes it easier to plan relevant learning activities, measure my progress toward achieving the goal and know when I have met my goal. In addition, during dealing with client this model will help me a lot to help client to measure their progress toward their goals. On a personal level, I see myself developing leadership skills in this course. I have felt as though I have learned the experience; therefore I have to practice skills in way of sharing whatever I can and I appreciate the opportunity to do so, too. I am also enjoying the exchange that in class after group therapy runs the feedback given by instructor and classmate as well. I feel that this is a very thoughtful group of students and instructor and I am stretching myself to learn more and share what I have learned. The readings text book is provide knowledge of a basis for support of how to run group therapy and I find myself I have to closely grasp some skills and converted to actions. I appreciate that we are all open to sharing our experiences and this makes for an invaluable learning experience for me. In addition, the positive environment which we create in our class helps me to feel comfortable to share and to be a part of this team. I have learned from this how important creating positive climate among group members is helpful. Therefore, practicing group therapy model is instrument that incorporates the group members in a time perspective and opens up a conversation about groups here –and –knows and its hopes for the future. I think whether the groups are short term or long term, both require adjustment, adaptation, continual accommodations, and understanding of self. During this stage I can help groups through acknowledging the members feelings first before pushing them because emotional process of healing will came over time. In addition, I will also take a broad view of the healing process to include all levels of functioning, emotional being one, then there is mental, physical, and spiritual. Moreover, I also think my role as facilitator or co-facilitator involves strengthening the resilience factors in the groups and their members so that they could benefit themselves of group therapy services on as needed
