Yes, police officers should be required to use body cameras. A body camera, is a small video camera worn on the body, typically used by police officers to record arrests, evidence from crime scenes. With body cameras it shows if the suspect or the witness or even if the police are lying. According to SIRS-DATABASE they state that " When police officers wear body cameras it will reduce the use of force by police officers and lessens the number of complaints by citizens against the police". Source 2 states that " Police dashboard cameras have been in use by some law enforcement's agencies since the mid-1990's".

Police officers should be required to wear body cameras because it enables them to provide richer and more accurate accounts of the incidents, reduce dishonesty in incident reports, provide police superiors with a potent tool for reliable supervisory, and improve the relationship the police forces and their constituent's communities.
