Social media and minors is one of the hottest topics of this era. I believe that minors should be allowed to use social media at any time. One cannot expect a kid to use social media correctly in the future; however, if they aren’t given the opportunity to experiment with it now. They should also be able to use it so they could communicate with loved ones, classmates and their friends. One can expect a child to use social media correctly without ever using it. For example, id a 15 year old is trying to fit in with society, one needs to know how to use it properly. The reason for that is because social media can come with a lot of consequences. For example, if a teen is working in a group school project and they do not complete it they would usually communicate this to each other utilizing social media. This will not only help students in school projects, but it will also help them develop better communication skills. Another example of this is when a teen is missing family or loved ones; social media is used so often that sending a loved one a message is a very easy way to get a hold of them. This will help them stay close with friend or loved ones and also communicate easy and faster. Some people worry about teens using social media in the wrong way or for bad causes. However, they are wrong because if a teen isn’t able to experience with social media at a young age, they will not know how to utilize it when they are older. An example of this is a CNN statistic showed that 53% of teens who were new to social media at an older age either used it in the wrong way, over used it, or they posted inappropriate items. This shows how all this chaos can be avoided if teens are taught how to use social media properly at a young
