There has recently been a debate about whether chocolate milk should be served in the school cafeteria or not. Some people say that it should be served in the cafeteria because chocolate milk is healthy and helps child growth. But, they are wrong. Chocolate milk is definitely not healthy, and it should not be served in the cafeteria. This is why. Chocolate milk shouldn’t be served in the cafeteria because it’s fattening and too sugary, it’s non-beneficial, and it can be harmful. One reason chocolate milk shouldn’t be served in the cafeteria is, since the carbohydrates from chocolate milk are digested so quickly, any extra sugars are converted into fat. In fact, according to the article “Chocolate Milk: More Harmful Than Helpful”, one small carton of chocolate milk has about 30 grams of sugar, whereas a mini can of coke only has about 25 grams.That means a mini can of coke has about 20% less sugar than a small carton of chocolate milk. This shows that coke is healthier for children than chocolate milk. And, you don’t see the cafeteria serving coke, so why serve chocolate milk? Also, according to Jamie Oliver,a food specialist, “ When kids drink chocolate milk every day at school, they’re getting nearly two gallons of extra sugar each year.
