Three Stores:
Aldo, Payless Shoes, Sport's Check,
Observations
We pick three different stores that have different characteristics throughout the store decoration, sales, and the style of the shoes that each of the store carries. The stores are Aldo, payless shoes, and sport's check. Aldo carries fashion shoes which attract people who are more considering about the look of themselves. Payless Shoes has different brand of shoes and style with lower price which is more acceptable than most of the shoe stores; however, the selection of shoes are less and not trendy. Sport¡¦s Check provides more selections of outdoor shoes which targets the people who are seeking for and considering about the functionalities and comfortableness.
ALDO
During the observation, the characteristic of consumers can be divided into age, sex, and professions. In Aldo, the purchased groups are mostly female and very few male. Aldo¡¦s targeted consumers are people who are capable of sustaining a higher price range of trendy products. Moreover, the ratio of space used to display female and male products in all Aldo branches is about three to two. Although the display products are updated on a biweekly basis, men¡¦s shoes updates every quarter. Aldo targets mainly in female consumers because female consumers often do luxury shopping. In contrast, male consumers update their outfit and accessories on a more irregular basis. As well, we noticed that female and male in suite would spend longer time looking and try wearing the shoes. Since the shoes these people choose from represent and illustrate his or her professionalism, the style and color of the shoes that they prefer are usually simple, classic and monotone. Younger people aged around eighteen to twenty-five often look for shoes that are trendy, fancy, and stylish. To the young group, shoes play a crucial part of fashion. Last but not least, another interesting point we also noticed is that, unlike women, very few male consumer do luxury shopping. Male consumers usually discover their need first before going out to purchase the product; whereas most female consumers purchase unneeded products due to various factors such as pricing, salesperson, and mood. Men spend much lesser time than woman in choosing and trying his desired shoes. Most man would ask for assistance for recommendations in picking up the right shoes.
PAYLESS SHOES
As it¡¦s titled, people pay less for the shoes. In the store, most of the costumers are from average income families.
People are often deceived by some famous brands, which they will buy as useless commodities to feel they are distinctive. People require brands to experience the feeling of being special. People spend their money to have something from famous brands, like a bag from Coach or Louis Vuitton which they think they need, yet all that is just people’s wants. Steve McKevitt claims that people give more thought on features or brands when they need to buy a product, “It might even be the case that you do need a phone to carry out your work and a car to get around in, but what brand it is and, to a large extent, what features it has are really just want” (McKevitt, 145), which that means people care about brands more than their needs. Having shoes from Louis Vuitton or shoes that cost $30 it is designed for the same use.
The franchise owner is results oriented. Meeting and exceeding sales goals is the main objective of daily, weekly, and monthly goals. His main expectation of the staff is getting the job of selling shoes done right the first time and in an efficient manner. It is expected that the sales representative does such an excellent job that the product does not return back to the store. SAS Shoes is a very structured business model at the level of retail. There are very detailed steps that the employee is required to follow from adhering to the strict dress code, utilizing the four-step selling structure, to putting the shoes back in their assigned boxes the correct and efficient way. The employee is expected to not only meet but excel at using these meticulous techniques. Although the culture at SAS Shoes is very stringent, it works well with the ever changing environment surrounding shoe sales in Albuquerque, New
An extensive research study will be initiated determining what the male customers want in an athletic shoe. These studies will take place online, by ground mail, and by telephone. Once the information is gathered the various types of men's shoes will then be developed focusing on the most popular needs determined by the survey results, which will include a question regarding price. L.A. Gear will then compare the needs of the customers to the industry leaders and determine how the leaders achieved the needs of the male customers and what opportunities L.A. Gear could use to "one up" the competition. L.A. Gear's shoes already focus on comfort, style, and fashion and will now include high performance.
1. Is the international market arena in which your athletic footwear company competes characterized by multicountry competition or global competition? Explain why.
The sign of moving products promptly from a designer’s table to the retail sales floor has swayed the whole global retail commerce and enticed rivalry. Customers value a “new look” that can be worn for this instant and assess the goods as a monetary fortune; not something that you will keep
This report analyzes the role personal, social, and situational factors in consumer behaviour in the unisex shoe store category. Observations were made at three different shoe retailers including Town Shoes, Payless Shoe Source, and The Shoe Company. These three stores offer very diverse retail environments targeted towards different demographics of people. I have created a marketing plan for 'The Shoe Doctor'. The Shoe Doctor will be a local business in the Brownsville area that will offer shoe repair services. Consumerism has always been a big part of society back in the golden days. In today’s society, the ongoing debate of wants and needs are not justified by an individual’s wealth, but it is rather opinionated by the generalized public. Not only are the consumers getting caught in this mess, but many retailers are being sucked in as well. Retailers, have to stay up to date with the latest trends, to make sure they get their products across. Human identity is no longer determined by how much a person makes an hour, but by the commodities they possess. Consumers are so centralized on the materialistic items, that they forget what is more valuable and important. Unfortunately, the frivolous consumption has taken over the

The number of shoes probably sounds extremely high. Perhaps boat customers weren't the only ones that bought the shoes. Maybe random responsible parents bought them for the children. Parents so responsible that they were willing to ignore the large price tag. A strategy out of the latest best selling parenting handbook.
