Name: Paradice Date: Founded in Age 1850 Description: Paradice is Booga's third largest continent, located in the western hemisphere, mostly in the southern hemisphere, with a relatively small portion in the northern hemisphere. It is surrounded by Empire State (North), Empire Ocean (West), Rim Ocean and Shina Ania (East) and Constringitur (South). The Southern sections of Paradice are warm to cold, while far northeastern areas are very cold more often than not. The continent, which has long been home to the development of Magic by Humans, if often compare to Empire State in a historical and cultural construct to showcase the clear differences between the two. History It was around Crisis Era Year 40, that the first group humans that departed from Shina Ania, arrived in this mysterious continent. When they arrived, they found that it had plenty of natural resources. Thus, settlement was not difficult and able to flourish as a society. Their goal was to gain information and reported back to people in Shina Ania and give Suyoi further place to explore. However, Lucifer's 50 Year War had erupted, throwing the plan off course. The war resulted Demons from the Under World to escape and invade Planet Booga, causing destruction on the planet …show more content…
However, unlike Shina Ania, there was no monarchy, but rather adhere to a democratic government. Without any form of wars, aside from occasional monsters and demons appearing in Paradice, it was relatively peaceful. Until Year 814. The Demons they have encountered before had change greatly. They are now referred as Deimos due to the sheer differences between the two. Deimos, coming from Deimos Valley, has wage a full scale invasion, with their new secret arts, magic, that even their technology is able to countered. Thus, lead to a thousand years war where Deimos was practically dominated the
In 480 and the years prior the Athenians and Spartans, banned together to defeat the Persian Army. The Spartans stand at Thermopylae, allow the Athenians time to prepare, and ultimately allow the victory. With both of these great city-states located so close together in Hellas, their differences would ultimately lead to dissension. Throughout the course of this paper, I hope to explain the reasoning behind the dissension between Sparta and Athens, which made war between these former allies inevitable. Whenever there is an argument or war, there is always a difference between both parties involved.
It is surprising indeed that Even today, tyrannies and dictatorships exist in the world when more than two and a half thousand years ago the ancient Athenians had developed a functional and direct form of democracy. What contributed to this remarkable achievement and how it changed the socio-political. scene in Athens is what will be considered in this paper. The paper will have three sections, each detailing the various stages. of political development from the kings of Attica to the time of Pericles when, in its golden age, Athens was at the height of its. imperial power.

David Guterson depicts real-life prejudice during World War II in his fictional novel Snow Falling on Cedars. During World War II, prejudice towards the Japanese was strong. Japan had attacked America, and because they had attacked us that meant that every Japanese person was responsible in some way. Similarly, in the novel, Kabuo Miyamoto was blamed for committing the murder of Carl Heine because of his race rather than facts. The white people were eager and willing to point their fingers at the Japanese because it was easy for them to do so during this time period.
In the years following the Persian Wars in 479 B.C., Athens had come out on top being the most dominantly powerful of any Greek city with a navy that had superior strength that increased day by day. The Athenians “ruled with heavy-handed, even brutal force as well as with reason” (Kagan 2). This was due largely to the fact that Athens had a stable and effective government, which only increased their advantage in proving themselv...
Jonathan Rauch’s essay “In Defense of Prejudice” essay immediately stood out to me for a few reasons. As a black Muslim woman living in America, I’ve dealt with my fair share of prejudice and for that I’ve always had a negative view towards it. Also, I found the title to be striking and unconventional which automatically drew me towards it. In “In Defense of Prejudice”, Rauch makes it clear that while he is not in favor of prejudice, he is in favor of allowing people to express their prejudice as openly and freely as they choose to. He takes a somewhat controversial stance with his belief that banning hate speech actually goes against freedom of speech and that eradicating prejudice should not be the goal of Americans, but to use prejudice
For example, the Persian Wars sent the Assembly into downward spiral of chaos, restored only after Greek victory. The institution of new rulers, city-states, and alliances such as the Delian League have fluctuated the very foundation of democracy. Despite how effective it was, politics were still biased. In an act of hostility, Athenians turned against Themistocles because he became “too powerful.” According to episode two of “The Ancient Greeks: The Crucible of Civilization,” Athenian government could “turn its back on anyone, even its greatest war hero.” Democracy also faced uproar once again following Pericles death, who single-handedly supported the system. This chaos, as mentioned in the third episode, crippled the Athens from fighting in t the Peloponnesian war. Because of this, the Athens faced a humiliating defeat against Sparta, their militarily advanced
Why does racism exist? Who created it? In the society we live today, discrimination and racism occur everyday, yet nothing is being done to stop it. Being an Asian-American living in a predominantly white society, I have encountered racial stereotypes directed towards me not just from friends, but strangers as well. Are you good at math? Do you eat rice? These are just a few questions that I have been asked regarding my race and the stereotypes that surround it.
Racism and prejudice has been present in almost every civilization and society throughout history. Even though the world has progressed greatly in the last couple of decades, both socially and technologically, racism, hatred and prejudice still exists today, deeply embedded in old-fashioned, narrow-minded traditions and values.
Prejudice: is an unjustified or incorrect attitude (usually negative) towards an individual based solely on the individual’s membership of a social group, for example a person may hold prejudiced views towards a certain race or gender. A prejudiced person may not act on their attitude. So that means someone can be prejudice towards a certain group but not discrimate against them, an example of this was in the scene when the couple was walking down the street and as the two black man walked towards them she clinched her purse and held her husband even tighter. She judged them without even knowing what their intentions were. The interesting part was she was right and they need up carjacking them
America has always struggled with discrimination and prejudice throughout its history. On July 2nd, 1964 the United States took a step in the right direction, when it recognized the principle that all men are created equal with the passage of the Civil Rights Act. The Act outlawed all discrimination formed on the basis of race, religious affiliation, gender or ethnic origin. In addition, it ended racial segregation in educational institutions and in the workplace. However, it can be argued that discrimination and prejudice remain today. America has attempted to stop this by instituting anti-discrimination laws, however the laws can only do so much.
As can be expected from pioneer governmental institutions, Athenian democracy was not perfect. In fact it was far from it. It resulted in the establishment of poor policies by aggressive populists who sought "...private ambition and private profit...which were bad both for the Athenians themselves and their allies." (Thucydides). These self interested populist leaders with personal gain in mind established extensive internal political instability "...by quarrelling among themselves [and] began to bring confusion into the policy of the state." (Thucydides). Repeated opportunities to accept terms of peace after the battles of Pylos (425), Arginusae (406) and Aegospotami (405) were ignored by the inefficient Athenian demos eventually resulting in the devastation of the once dominant city-state. Internal political strife can also be attribu...
According to history, the migration of the first humans into what is called Near Oceania began around 40,000 years ago and over time produced considerable cultural, linguistic, and genetic diversity in Oceania and Polynesia. There were no original inhabitants, it was bare land.

Racial prejudice was blatantly displayed in the form of slavery 150 years ago. These negative racial attitudes were still obvious over 50 years ago when black Americans were discriminated against by the act of segregation. Prejudices toward black Americans may not be as evident as they were then, but they still occur. Prejudices present themselves in a fashion where black children are aware of them and begin to hold their own. Racial prejudice contributes to discrimination and impacts the perceptions held by black youth and their self-image.
