Journal Entry: Mayor Whitewash Spring of 2100, Shangri-La is a perfect society because it includes the necessary traits that one should include: Organization, Equality, Caring, Communication, and education. I believe that these are the traits required in a society to be perfect, to be in peace and harmony. Some may think that problems may arise such as no diversity, pride, hurting of others due to lack of care, and possibly anarchy. All of these things are definitely real, but I think the way you maintain them is to have a leader. One that is a good influence on the people, one that will solve their problems, someone that is smart and thinks of the people and their disputes before anything else. Everyone should be equal in what they receive. So this is why we have a democracy. One in which a leader is not chosen, such as me, but more so the leaders are the people. The government are just representations of the people and we decide whether the idea will benefit our society In a good way, and if any time the people think we should not be the leaders, they can replace us with a simple vote. We also have gotten rid of the “survival of the fittest” rule because everyone is fittest in our eyes. We have a policy that states, “One who does not care, is one who is not cared for”. All citizens are required to do at least one caring thing a day, and if they do not, they are out in the box, away from society where they can grieve about what they have done. Furthermore, everything we believe in, everything we do is based on averages, so even if people have different opinions on something, we can still partially use their opinion, thus allowing us to organize everyone’s ideas into one single thought out one. I as the mayor am willing to do what is best for the society such as banishing those who are a bad influence, but not before a fair and carefully calculated trial.
