Scientific Naturalism is a worldview that states only natural laws and forces work within our world and that supernatural does not exist. Naturalism states our universe is a closed system. Therefore all objects and events are formed through nature. Which makes everything that is created subject to research. Naturalism believes in two elements which are science and reason. The Natural Law Party was formed April 1992 in the United State of America. It was set up by a group of educators, business leaders, and lawyers in Fairfield, Iowa who practiced Transcendental Meditation, and it led by John Hagelin who is the presidential candidate and kingsley Brooks who is the chairman of this party since 1994. It is the third party which is largely center-left in ideology. The main aim of the party is to “bring the light of science into politics.” This party purposes to bring the field-tested solutions to America’s problems, which have already existed and are ignored, to the government with its member’s knowledge.

Biological Essentialist View (BEV) explains gender differences and rationalizes male dominance in biological terms. Men and women are different genetic compositions (i.e the level of testosterone) which support differences in behavior. This paper will consider rape and homosexuality to examine strengths and weaknesses of BEV. This paper will find some usefulness of BEV in explaining gender behavior but there are significant gaps in this theory. I will use post-structuralism as a way to fill in the gaps of BEV, resulting in a fully rounded ideology of gender theory.

Naturalism is about bringing humans into the “natural world”. We, as humans, are seen as aspects of nature collectively not separate like they once were. “Naturalism holds that everything we are and do is connected to the rest of the world and derived from conditions that precede us and surround us. Each of us is an unfolding natural process, and every aspect of that process is caused, and is a cause itself ” (“A Guide for Naturalism”). Humans are like “animals” they contain the same drives that animals have. They are just plain “natural”. Many authors express naturalism in their writings such as Kate Chopin. The Romantics had a unique connection and view of nature. In many ways nature was like a religion to them. They worshiped and cherished nature and its beauty. The contemporary view of nature is largely based on what can be proved by science. People now believe what can be verified by scientists as the truth, but there are a few exceptions to that. When considering the reading that we have done so far in class I am struck by the relationship that is drawn in many of them, between the appreciation of nature and spirituality. While I am not a Christian in the typical sense there is still no doubt in my mind that there is a benevolent and loving higher power, whatever its name may be. What reason do I have to say this? For me, like Wordsworth in "Tintern Abbey", and like Radcliffe's Emily, I feel a connection with a higher power in my own interactions with nature.

Many of us notice these differences, as most of the time they are quite obvious, but most of us do not, however, take the time to ponder and mull over in our minds just why these distinctions are important. It is not enough to say that two things are different or are simply opposed. Rather, the ability to truly understand the philosophical and jurisprudential underpinnings of each school of legal thought, one must engage why this distinction must be made in the first place and what effect this has on our legal understanding. It is my intent to show in this paper, on top of explicating the basal differences between the two ideologies, why making the distinction between the two is important. Various pieces of legal literature will be used in order to convey this point, such as pieces by Lon Fuller including the infamous debate between himself and H.L.A. Hart. To better understand the background of these jurisprudential philosophies, we will first explore their histories and explicate the details of their respective precepts.
