From your Surveys of School Context, what areas of need did the team select?

The three areas of need select by my team are as follows:

• The structure of our school promotes relationships between teachers and administrators.
• Conflicts and tensions that naturally arise are resolved.
• A high degree of trust and professional regard exists in our school.

Explain why you believe these areas were selected based on a conversation with your co-workers.

The members of my team include the following members:
1. ELAR teacher 1
2. Dean of Instruction (DI)
3. ELAR curriculum coach (CCIS)
4. ELAR/Reading teacher
5. Paraprofessional

Additionally, parent conferences are scheduled during school hours in an effort to appease teachers. The DI stated that teachers have expressed to her that they prefer to meet with parents during conference hours in order to eliminate frivolous meetings that can be handled via phone or tele-conference. The next are to be eliminated was:
• Our school has opportunities for students to mentor fellow students.
The three ELAR professionals offered that although the campus does not have a formal policy related to this idea, it does happen quite often in the classroom through collaborative grouping and peer-tutoring. The paraprofessional agreed after adding that she sees this happen quite often in the classrooms she visits each week. Additionally, the DI was not sure how all employees would be able to participate in addressing this concern. The last three of the areas were in the category of school organization. All members voted and the unanimous decision was that the focus should be on the following areas:
