Many people know the famous shoe brands Puma and Adidas, but they do not know the rivalry that took place between the two brothers who created the stores. The rivalry that took place has some similarities to the famous play “The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet” like the separation of the town, only serving certain people, fighting between families, and misunderstandings of plans, people and words. The rivalry between the Dasser brothers tore the small town of Herzogenaurach, Germany apart, but created two of the most famous and successful shoe brands in the world. This paper will outline the conflict between the Dasser brothers and how it connects to the famous play “ The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet.” Adolf and Rudolf’s father was Christoph Von Wilhelm Dassler. Adolf and Rudolf’s mother was Pauline Dasser. Christoph worked in shoe factory when the brother were young probably exciting their interest into the shoe industry. The brothers mom Pauline ran a small laundry store in the town of Herzogenauch, Germany. Rudolf worked with his dad at the shoe factory after school during his childhood and adolescence years. At the beginning the company had to be powered by stationary bikes since the electricity in the town was unreliable. Rudolf was the better salesman of the brother and Adolf was the better shoe maker or craftsman.
