My topic for my renaissance person was Fernando Valenzuela. I saw patterns that some people did other athletes and other people did people like in movies. I learned that Fernando Valenzuela participated in a charity to raise money for cancer and that his nickname is El Toro. In this project the learner profiles I saw was thinker because a lot of people had to think about what they had to do and how they had to do it. The global contexts that I saw were personal and cultural expression. If I were to do this project again I would actually do everything on time and not turn it in late. My high and low points were that I got it turned it in and my low point was that I turned it in late. The key concepts that I saw were change because I learned

Cajamarca was one of the three major cities of the Inca Empire (along with Cuzco and Quito) and the site of the Battle of Cajamarca, during which the conquistador Francisco Pizarro and his group of Spaniards seized Atawallpa, the Inca Emperor, marking the beginning of the end of the Inca Empire, its last outpost, Vilcabamba, finally falling in 1572. Pizarro and his men followed the Inca Road system to Cajamarca where they encountered Atawallpa and began their deceitful plot. The Emperor had stopped in the city on his way to Cuzco after claiming the throne from his brother at Quito. Atawallpa apparently regarded the Pizarro and his men as foreign, but well armed mercenaries and the relationship between the Inca and the Spaniards seemingly proceeded
A lot of people like to watch scary movies because they like to get scared and because they enjoy watching them. One of these popular and scary stories is La Ciguapa. La Ciguapa is known myth that comes from Dominican Republic.First La Ciguapa is a brown skinned woman with ripped black eyes. Her body looks different, she has her first turned upside down which makes her run faster. La Ciguapa lives in the mountains in caves. Sometimes when she sees a male walkingthere, she attracts them with her beauty. That’s the reason the males disappear. La Ciguapa seduces them and they loose their mind and they end up going with her and she keeps them in the caves.Second, La Ciguapa has a hair that is so long that becomes the only clothes she uses to cover
The term Renaissance Man or Renaissance Individual refers to a person that is skilled in many talents and/or has extensive knowledge. Through the centuries, there have been many people who have fit this description. People like Leonardo da Vinci, Einstein and Galileo Galilei.
Conclusion Ultimately I did a much better job of implementing course material into my approach to leading the project team. Though no formal leadership role was established, I ended up becoming the “point-man.” Instead of viewing this reality as a burden (as I have been) I should make the most of the opportunity to better myself and potentially others. Additionally, and perhaps most importantly, I need to make sure that I am meeting and exceeding the demands that the group places on itself and demonstrate that I am motivated.
I performed mainly behind the scenes tasks such as making boxes and packing food. While I did not deal with feeding the hungry directly, I still learned and observed many lessons that were reflected in class. One thing I observed that we discussed in Reconciling All Things is people ignoring and crossing divides to help those in need. The people at the food bank did not care what the person’s socioeconomic status was, they still served and helped them. A lesson that became more solidified through this project was the fact that everyone’s job at the food bank, no matter how big or small, is important to getting to overall mission completed. Whether it was someone like me making boxes or someone serving food in the kitchen, we all played a role to end hunger. Another thing that I noticed through this project was that some problems are easier, maybe not by much but still nonetheless, to solve than we make them out to be. Hunger is probably the easiest social problem that can be solved in America due to the excessive amount of food wasted every year. I thoroughly enjoyed this project and watched things that were discussed in class come to
Evidently, Leonardo Da Vinci is considered a “Renaissance Man” because of his talent in almost every area. A “Renaissance Man” is someone who is able to do a little bit of everything. That is exactly what his life was; a dedicati...
I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic and our tradition when it comes to last names differs from the one in the United States. In the Dominican tradition, each person carries two last names, but only the first last name of each parent would be transferred to a child. The first last name is acquired through the fraternal side, while the second last name comes from the maternal side. So my future children would carry their father’s first last name as their first last name, and then my first last name as their second.
...t the last year of high school would be less agonizing without a laborious issue such as a Culminating Project, to attend to. Therefore, these points have been covered: what the project is, examples of different advocators of the project, and the different viewpoints of why it is useful verses why it is not. Hopefully, this can change the ideals and opinions of the administrators and enforcers of the Senior Project, to consider what a hindrance it is.
Basically I learned that I had all the leadership qualities that I needed to get my team to the Delaware Water Gap. I also found many other qualities I had, like my willpower to get the job done, or my problem solving ability. All my true qualities came out during this challenge and they were needed to accomplish the goal. There were times where we wouldn't exactly get along with each other and I had to confront people, but we got over
If I was to retake this module I would have preferred to have spent a more dense first 2 weeks to help the team push past the "Forming" and "Storming" stages as I felt as a group we were stuck in these for too long. I would have also preferred if the team leader was stricter on certain members about deadlines as this was one of the main problems that occurred which made us fall onto our contingency plan.
Bixa Orellana is one of only few species of plants belonging to the family Bixaceae. Plants within the Bixaceae family typically contain two cotelydons and possess both male and female reproductive organs. B. Orellana is a tropical shrub that is native to the Americas and it is believed the origin of its name is derived from Francisco Orellana, who is credited with discovering the plant while exploring the Amazon rainforest. This plant can reach heights between eight to twelve feet and produce white or pink flowers. B. Orellana also produces capsule shaped red or brown fruits covered in spines which contribute to its distinctive physical appearance. The inside of these capsules contain numerous oval shaped red seeds that can be, on average, slightly larger than a dime. There can be an abundant amount, as many as fifty to eighty, of these seeds present in one capsule. The seeds are covered by waxy like red-brown aril (Donkin, R. A. 1974).
I have learned several valuable things from this project experience. First, it’s okay to not know how to do something right away. Ask, observe and experiment. Doing so will greatly enhance my ability to do it correctly and continue to learn. Second, I learned that this can be an experience in frustration if I always try to not make waves. Sometimes waves need to be made to better the project. And third, watch for similar frustrations with my students and intervene before it gets too serious.
In the end, my team and I got an A- for our presentation and paper. I believe that this project was completely successful and although there were some difficult times throughout the process, I am proud to say that we all stayed committed to the project. I feel that this was my most significant leadership experience because I used everything I learned through my experience in business organizations to make this project come to life. I felt that I showed the qualities of a good leader because I was determined, motivated, worked well with the team, delegated tasks to the team effectively, and communicated with the team to make this project
This was a long-term design project, and everything was fresh to me. Patience was the crucial and essential factor that was needed in such a long project in my view. Fortunately, I learned and gained the patience. Besides, communication was another extremely significant factor. It was essential to communicate and discuss with the pathway tutors and the course mates regularly, for the information of the tutor was the most useful advice in the process of major project. Overall, I achieved these two important factors which also could be described as strengths.
