Alongside the excellent characterization of Batman, and the various characters in the film. I love how the movie uses flashbacks in a story, the characters usually remember an event while at the location of where it happened. These events usually happen before their eyes and they are always an important integral to the plot of the film. Adding to the list of excellent things about this film are the voice cast. This movie opted to not use any of the cast from the animated series and I did not mind it. Bruce Greenwood plays a Batman that is similar to Kevin Conroy’s but deeper, subdued and more brooding. For starters there is the computer generated chase scene in the beginning, now it is no secret they do not have giant budgets for this film. But throughout, the animation is crisp, the character models are crisp, and the backgrounds and special effects make this movie very aesthetically pleasing. The car chase scene lacks detail, and is incredibly glaring in comparison. Also, I cannot get behind the idea of Ra’s Al Ghul being foolish enough to align himself with the Joker. Ra’s has the same mission as Batman; stop evildoers. So why on earth would he align himself with a psychopathic mass murder? I understand that they needed to get the ball rolling on the entire plot of the film, but this just seems like an unbelievably stupid thing for Ra’s Al Ghul to do. Finally, how did Red Hood know that Black Mask would break the Joker out of Arkham in the hopes of taking him out? Black Mask could have hired a plethora of Assassins to kill him. On top of that, the latter should be well aware of how unpredictable the Joker is, given that he is a native to Gotham City. Red Hood plays it off like he knew that Black Mask would do this but I cannot help but roll my eyes at how utterly luck based his plot was. Aside from those minor complaints, I will never be able to recommend this movie enough. It really is every bit as good as I am saying it is, if you love Batman, or if you just want to watch an entertaining movie; watch
