Reflective Evaluation

The standardized patient experience was useful and interesting for me because I became more confident and active during nursing practice after that practice exam. It was also make me to remember 2012 and 2013 when I was working in the hospital in my country. After that practical activity, I knew how staff nurses should deal and communicate with patients who have different culture and language. Certainly, my specialization is nursing education, but I wanted to take more practical classes during the course or study.

I had the ability to elicit a comprehensive health history by using skillful interviewing techniques. However, I was nerves and panic because I thought the time will be not adequate to complete that practical

Whereas, I did not ask patients about the culture because according to their look, accent, shape, name, and social, I thought they were Christian and from America. However, staff nurses have to ask patients about the culture during take health history or case study because some patients might have American characteristics such as look, shape, accent, and name, but they have different cultures or religion. I hoped to provide more teaching advice and health information to patients about their situations, but the time was concerned for me. It is essential that nurse educator provides adequate health educations to the patients during taking case study or health

During physical examination, I did not have a communication problem with that patients who have between 40 to 60-year-old. When I asked them questions about their situations, they were answering it accurate and clear. However, during that patient who has abdominal pain, it was difficult for me to palpate kidneys and spleen organ because the patient was overweight. Also, in that patient, when I palpate femoral artery, I forgot to take permission from him before I palpate it because I was thinking about the time. During other patient who has chest pain, I did not have a problem through physical assessment. I took the permission from that patient before I evaluate and check each step during physical examination. It is necessary staff nurses to take permission from patients before evaluate and check their body during physical
