English 102 has taught me a lot about my writing. Becoming a better writer and pushing myself to the next level was my goal for this semester. Therefore, I learned how to use research to back up my arguments. We wrote many different essays based on different types of literature, which is something I had not done before. Initially, I had a few problems, but learned from those mistakes to become better at writing. I definitely have things that I need to work on in the future. However, looking back on my semester I have overcome many of my writing obstacles and have become a better writer. I have had a few problems within my writing from the beginning of the semester. Writing in MLA formatting was a huge struggle due to me not having experience with that. MLA formatting was taught in my prior English classes, but it was not stressed as much as it was in this class. Therefore, I had issues about what format to use for putting the date on my first essay was supposed to be. In my English 101 class we put the date after the month, however in English 102 we put it before the month. Consequently, another issue with MLA formatting I had was citations. In English 101 I did not have direction on how to do citations or how to fix them until this class. …show more content…

I met many different people who have helped me along the way. The problems I had at the beginning of the semester such as MLA format and transitions are not a problem for me anymore. Learning to fix those were a struggle, but enjoyed seeing myself grow as a writer. New things I learned along the way was understanding new information and putting those onto paper. There are many things that I plan on working on in the future to continue to flourish as a writer. I worked through my problems this semester, and those showed me how to get over my writing obstacles and be the best writer that I can
