Reflective Essay: Developing My Writing Skills

Through the course of this year writing essays have not been the easiest thing for me. I continue to try and improve, but I always fall short someway or somehow. There have been many struggle to get ideas about a paper and most significant is my grammar errors. Some of the papers I have done have been uncomplicated and smooth to write about. Through this year I had been developing my writing skills, but not as fast as I should. Throughout my year I have been shown many strengths and weaknesses in my writing and continue to improve on my writing. In these semesters I have been able to strengthen my writing and continue to help my strengths grow. In writing everyone has many strengths and weaknesses no matter who they are. My strengths in writing have been organization. I like to make sure that things progress and flow together. Also, I try to uses various words in my writing, so I am not repetitive. I need improvements on grammar, not using pronouns, and dragging on essays. Seeing my essays combined, I want to continue to look over them and take note on what to look out for. I plan to make a list of my common mistakes to check if I made the repeated mistakes. Also, my essays have made improvements throughout the quarters. As I look on my essays from beginning to end some mistakes stop appearing such as my grammar errors, structure, and vocabulary. Furthermore, I would not say writing is the most exciting subject to me. Writing has always been a struggle to me and I want to continue in writing to help me grow. In the same way reviewing past essays can help me grow as a writer in seeing my mistakes and learning from them. Next year I will have these past essays as a guide to help me correct my future
