I have been told that college is a four year road with endless possibilities. My mom has always told me to get involved at school, whether it be middle school, high school, or college. I plan to be more involved than I was in high school by enrolling in the ROTC program as well as looking for an auto class and an outdoor program. In high school I started freshman year with baseball. I was also involved in JROTC which eventually became my center of focus. I intend to continue being involved with the ROTC program at Kansas State. Through high school I found a home in the JROTC program that eventually led to the decision of going to the Army. I will use the prior experience I have through JROTC in order to work my way up the ranks at Kansas State and ultimately move on to commision as an Army officer. My high school did not offer much that I was interested in. They had an auto shop class prior to my freshman year and never brought it back. I have an extreme interest in mechanics and engineering, which is why it is my major. I hope to …show more content…

My goal is to find a fishing team as long as it does not interfere with my ultimate goals in college. Fishing, while something I enjoy, is an activity that can be done outside of school in my free time. Consequently, if I do not have any extra time in my schedule, fishing can wait. We all have something we would rather be doing. I would rather be fishing instead of writing this essay, but I know that in order to become who I want to be, I need to take care of this first. I will have plenty of time to do what I want to after completing what I need to first. This is why ROTC takes priority; it truly prepares me for the future after college. I plan to stay involved with programs outside the realm of education. I think that having time to decompress while doing something you enjoy is important to succeeding in
