There are and will be many challenges that we face that are and will define the strategic direction of health care altogether. Some of these challenges are proposed health care reform and legislation, information technology advancements, funding and costs of Medicaid and Medicare programs, access to health care, and maintaining a skilled workforce. The constitution is superior, and no law should infringe on it.As much as the healthcare reforms intend no harm to the American citizens, the health reform if fully implemented may be too expensive on the government because of the many people that are on government welfare. The economy has also not been performing well and this poses a risk of failure for the proposed health reform if implemented. The government is already in debt due to the recession and it would not be advisable to borrow even more money to add on its already existing debt. The issue of healthcare insurance companies has also come under scrutiny with critics saying that the issue of patients that will die because they have already been written off as individuals who cannot get better and are wastes of money being too many. Information technology advancements like electronic medical health records are a great benefit to patients. Such information would assist individuals to keep track of the best available healthcare services in their states. The internet has the potential of making the services of a healthcare organization more available to an organization and enabling easier flow of information. On a survey conducted by the National Research Council, it was found that the internet leads to healthcare organizations being able to reach more clients and being able to reduce costs by reaching more clients. When an organization is able to directly reach a client, they eliminate the cost that would have resulted due to intermediaries.
