Dress code, Reason 1 dress code is not a bad thing but a good thing dress code can keep it under control but some people has it way too strict like there was a 12 year old girl who missed two days of school because of tight pants well tight pants is supposed to be tight on up but people should be aloud to wear whatever they want to wear it's a free a free country you know it should be whatever you what to wear when you want to like the 12 year old girl if it’s cold outside and you don't have blue what are you supposed to wear well i would wear shorts but that's just me. Reason number2 of dress code the this is so stupid that having long hair
Varying Issues Corresponding to the School Dress Code Numerous cases have been presented and highlighted in the media based off of accounts from angered parents and students protesting the school dress code. Multiple reports are taken from females who experience the shorter end of the stick due to increased fashion interests and sexist mindsets of their school staff. Shame suits are humiliating outfits that those who break the rules must wear as a form of punishment, most of the time these consist of extremely unflattering clothes that have written phrases on them indicating that their appearance is due to their violation of the school rules. Punishments indicated a risk to the violators education caused by missed classes. Few in society do approve of the dress code as it controls female students’ modesty, banishes distraction, and preserves the professional atmosphere inside a school.
Dress codes are essentials for all schools across America. Dress codes will set the tone for students to be safe because they will help reduce violence, increase student safety, and provide a positive learning environment.
Most Schools have some kind of dress code, although some places enforce it less than others. Newport Harbor doesn’t enforce it as much as other schools do. If we wore clothes like how we do now in another school, you would probably get dress coded.
Those are some of the reason how dress code could help public schools and why there should be dress code for public schools. Those are the three main reasons why schools should adopt dress code: one it will save families money and time, then teens will stop trying to impress their peers with what they wear and focus more on school because everyone will look similar, and will make a better school and better environment. Families will save money and time by buying polos and khakis. Teens will stop trying to impress peers by wearing similar clothing, and it makes a better school environment by lowering gang related actions and grades will improve because teen will put academics before fashion. So lets adopt dress code in public schools.
Ensuing President Bill Clinton's State of the Union address in January of 1996, more and more public schools are implementing dress codes and uniform policies in their schools. As a result, there has been an increase in legal controversies dealing with the issue. The reason that dress codes are not conclusively enforced is due to the application of the First Amendment to juveniles in the public school setting. The First Amendment states that Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Should children in public schools be able to wear whatever they want because of the freedoms classified in the First Amendment? I feel that the answer is no. Institutionalizing dress codes in public schools would do a great good for students and the entire academic community. I base my opinion on the fact that the pros of imposing dress codes outweigh the cons of the argument. By imposing dress codes or uniforms for students, it would eliminate opportunities for the ridicule of less popular or less fortunate students based on their attire, help prevent gang violence and gang members from wearing gang colors and insignia in schools, and generate an overall better academic concentration and discipline in the educational community.
"Dress code is stupid. Dress code shouldn’t exist" Marley says confidently. "Explain." Mrs. Johnson states curiously. "Here's my reasons, they are valid, just in case you wanted to try and claim my facts are invalid. This is my opinion and you should be that last person to try and say something about my facts. Let me start by saying, dress code has been seriously preventing kids from expressing their true colors. There's no point in buying clothes if I can't wear what I want. There's no point in coming to school if I don't get to wear my wardrobe." Marley says.
What is the purpose of a dress code in schools? It is there to make sure we dress for success and we come to school ready to learn. That is what a dress school is for right? Or is it implemented into our schools to make students conform to how society wants them to be and be obedient to the people who make these types of rules? Here at Apple Valley High School (AVHS), we have a strict dress code and that is problematic. While there are some pros to schools having a dress, the cons of having it may very well outweigh the pros. There are many reasons why dress codes may be harmful, and at AVHS it is strictly enforced.
A dress code is a code that restricts how you dress for school or work. I believe schools should not have dress codes because students should be able to get to chose what they get to wear to school. cost too much to buy special things (ex. school uniforms, Polo shirts, Khakis, etcetera).
Do you want to be free and wear anything you want than having to be forced to wear something in school? For instance it isn’t fair to be forced to wear something that you don’t want to wear. Instead teens should be free to what they want to wear.overall My opinions and reasons about why schools shouldn’t have dress codes is because it takes away self expression and that it doesn’t facilitate learning. Also parents have to spend a lot of money to buy students uniforms. And that my opinions are that schools should not have dress codes because it takes away freedom and that parents are having to spend their precious dollars on buying students uniform and also dress codes take away student rights. My first supporting paragraph is that first
In response to increasing violence and gang related crimes in South Fork Consolidated School District, the administrators adopted a strict anti-weapons policy and dress code policy. Kihani Krishan, a middle school student in the district was a member of the Shek religion, which requires males to wear the traditional Shek turban and carry a jeweled dagger as a sign of religious devotion. Kihani, who hoped to be a Shek priest on day, decided to abide by his religious belief and wear his turban and carry his dagger on his belt. When Kihani’s teacher found his dagger and saw him refusing to take off his turban, he was taken to the principal’s office immediately. The school suspended Kihani for five days for violating dress code and indefinitely
Around the world there has been big confrontation about what is dress code. Dress code is the guidelines about what is right to wear, what is not, and why it should be worn that way. It is time for people to be told to tell how and why dress codes were created, what the big deal is about them and how they could make it better without getting rid of it completely or going to the extremes. If anyones ever been questioned about what they were wearing please listen, there is more than likely an answer to that.
We Should Be Allowed to Wear What We Want to! Students think that we don’t need a dress code, we should be able to dress however we choose. Teachers on the other hand believe that students should not be allowed to dress however they choose because many students will dress inappropriately. I do believe that students should be allowed to wear whatever they choose to,to attend school.
I think that if the students have to wear a dress code in school then the staff should as well. It’s not fair to the student’s that the teachers can wear whatever they want to wear but we can’t. Dress code is not going to stop the bullying from happening. No matter what you wear there is still going to be someone out there that is going to talk about you and bully you! Teachers should not have the right to walk around in the school wearing whatever they want as us students have to walk around in a uniform.
Choosing what to wear for the day. This is what most students are thinking about when they wake up. Students need the latest fashion in order to fit in, but some clothing may not be acceptable to wear in school. School dress codes are denying students their right to dress how they want, but the dress code is important for the students and their learning. Students are beginning to stand up and want to be heard. Some students are taking action and want the dress code to become less strict but some schools are doing the opposite for safety issues and for the students healthy learning environment. Dress codes are important for a strong and healthy learning environment and is also reducing violence in many schools around the country.
