To promote anti discriminatory practise in work it is vital that staff are aware of why it is so important. If staff members are not aware of the negative impact discriminatory practise may have on children and young people they may not feel it is important. Senior leaders should make sure that all staff are aware of the expectations in school and that everyone is to be treated equally. This should be clear through the schools own policies that will support legislation and codes of practise that stress the importance of rights for all children.
